Ah, Sagittarius. Ruled by Jupiter, the planet of Expansion and Abundance, Sagittarius is known as the famously ‘lucky’ sign of the Zodiac, with their fiery, changeable nature being so elusive and magnetic it’s often troublesome even for Sagittarius themselves to control.
Sagittarius is a natural actor, and their presence commands the attention of any room, as they easily adapt to new situations, gliding through the room and smiling at everyone, waltzing in as if they’ve just been crowned the Homecoming Queen.
It’s true: Sagittarian Suns are innumerable in Hollywood, as they have a natural magnetism and charisma that’s overpowering, drawing others to them like moths to a flame. Such attention can be both overwhelming and incredibly flattering to Sagittarius, who very much believes that ‘to be is to be perceived.’
Idealistic to their core, Sagittarius Suns are true visionaries, with the power to conjure magic for their audiences. However, for Sagittarius to be ‘successful in the long-term, they must follow their beliefs, as they become wildly reckless and potentially destructive if they’re forced to go without an audience (even if it’s only their family, friends, or co-workers) for too long.
Sagittarius is a Believer, and if not a staunch and vocal atheist, they’ll usually fall into the category of what some might call religious zealotry. But it’s imperative that Sagittarius follow whatever creed in which they choose to believe, as they can be deceptively self-involved, so used to getting the attention that when circumstances call for them to be alone, they quickly wilt into bouts of sullenness.
Like many of the other Signs, Saturn and Jupiter’s simultaneously move out of Capricorn and into Futuristic Aquarius is a welcome breath of fresh air (and with it, new opportunities) for Sagittarius.
Those born in late November will feel this change beginning in mid-late December of 2020 and into 2021, giving them a major jumpstart to this New Year.
With this in mind, Sagittarius might be the ‘luckiest’ ladies of 2021, with two major Solar Eclipses in Sagittarius occurring in their Sign. Solar Eclipses symbolize fresh starts and new beginnings, as well as a flurry of activity and the resurfacing of opportunities previously unrecognized.
The only caution for Sagittarius in 2021? Try not to overload yourself, as there’s an emotional Lunar Eclipse in your Partnership Sector on May 26 that may draw your attention away from yourself and to a Significant Other in your life, encouraging you to listen and look inward rather than outside yourself for that proverbial Pot of Gold.
Besides Gemini, Sagittarius is the preeminent Thrill-seeker of the Zodiac, thriving off the adrenaline of their latest Win.
But Sagittarius isn’t as strategic as certain (jealous) onlookers might believe, as their slick moves belie the inner curiosity that drives them. Sagittarius’ motto, ‘Don’t Fence Me In,’ derives from Sagittarius’ innate desire to explore and experience that which is unknown to them. Curiosity is what drives Sagittarius, boredom-prone as they tend to be. On the other hand, Sagittarius is drive by idealistic visions and dreams of ‘beating the odds.’
Ruled by Jupiter, Sagittarius is born ‘lucky.’ In fact, Sagittarius is so charming and charismatic, they could steal your wallet and give it back to you within the course of a brief conversation without you being any the wiser. Freedom of expression, philosophical debate, and a search for some kind of meaning or universal truth is often a preoccupation for Sagittarius, who is typically either a religious zealot, philosophical guru, or devout atheist, as Sagittarius is the Sign associated with Faith.
No matter what their creed, Sagittarius is deceptively self-centered – a fact which many of Sag’s closest friends and family may not even recognize. Such is the outsized charisma of those born under the Sagittarius Sun.
Whatever the case, Sagittarius attracts Opportunity via an inner Faith in themselves. Their ‘glass half full’ attitude may be seen by some as having rose-colored glasses, but this is simply the way Sagittarius views the world.
The only thing that can get in Sagittarius’ way is when they take this belief in themselves too far, as a string of successes can easily see Sag slowly but surely developing an inflated ego, to the extent that they become driven to push the envelope in one way or another, drawn as they are to seeing what (or how much) they can get away with.
That said, if Luck was indeed a Lady, she’d most definitely be a Sagittarius. And with Sagittarius’ style and ability to win on a lark, they’re most suited to games like Craps, Roulette, where speed and impulse, and that casual brand of Luck only Sagittarius has, are not only an asset but a necessity.
Like fellow Fire signs Aries and Leo, Sagittarius is well-suited for Sports Betting, as they have a natural Love of the Game. Sagittarius has little patience and a notoriously short attention span and are drawn to fast-paced games and sporting events alike.
Horse Racing, Stock Car Driving, and Professional Basketball are especially ideal for thrill-seeking Sagittarius, who often can’t get enough of that dopamine rush that comes with the instant gratification of a Win.
Brad Pitt fits his Sun sign archetype to a tee, effervescing with the effortless charisma characteristic of Sagittarius. As far as Sagittarius is concerned, the world is their oyster: no matter where they are, all they have to do is show up, and before they know it, they’re playing a key role in facilitating (if not directly orchestrating) some elaborate scheme or circus act.
This is evidenced by the fact that so many famous Sagittarius Suns have made quite the names for themselves in Hollywood – not just as Actors but as Directors: Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg, Jean-Luc Godard, Terrence Malick, Spike Jonze, and even Walt Disney were, not so coincidentally, all born under the auspicious Sagittarius Sun, all notable ‘Auteurs,’ of filmmakers intensely focused on bringing their individual visions of reality to life.
Real-life v. Imagined life is often where such types struggle the most, as the quotidian and the mundane are anathema to Sagittarius, inspiring them to bouts of complaining and boredom that would drive anyone (including those around them) up a wall.
If not channeled appropriately, Sagittarius can become delusional in their fanaticism that Belief is indeed Reality, failing to consider the role of their own Ego in the process. As in so many Greek myths, it’s hubris that is the downfall of Sagittarius – if they let their myriad successes go to their heads, that is.
