Like fellow Earth signs Virgo and Capricorn, Taurus is all about practicality, perfection, and the art of persuasion.
If Andy Garcia (Aries) in Ocean’s Eleven represents the House, then George Clooney (Taurus) plays his perfect foil character. Though they both clean up nicely, practically sashaying into the most exclusive nooks and crannies of the classiest casinos in town, appearances are indeed deceiving here.
Think about it this way: Andy Garcia’s job is to run the casino which, at least on paper, is an aboveboard, straightforward profession – and there’s no question who’s in charge (Aries, naturally).
George Clooney (at least in the movie) is a convicted felon released from prison; yet the moment those doors open, he’s already a Man with a Plan, leaving prison (for the same kind of risky crime he was just convicted of) in, albeit a slightly disheveled, suit and tie (Taurus, naturally).
And not just any plan, but a particularly intricate and detailed one requiring an entire team, all of whom are to play highly specialized roles (assigned by Clooney/Taurus, the Zodiac’s Master Puppeteer) to successfully execute his next carefully-planned heist.
With Uranus, the planet of unexpected upheaval and sudden change, moving through Taurus all year, Taureans everywhere continue to be thrown curveball after curveball.
When Uranus moves through your Sign, it’s inevitable that you’ll be shaken up, experiencing an Awakening of some kind that will benefit you later, but usually feels stressful in the present. It feels stressful because the Awakening is often, well, unexpected, making maintaining any kind of Daily Routines or Status Quo nearly impossible. All you can do it go with the flow.
But at no other time, this year will Taurus feel as challenged in their ability to reconcile the need for stability with the need to rebel (or make drastic, potentially painful changes) than in the dates surrounding the tense Saturn-Uranus alignment, exact on February 17, June 14 and December 24.
These dates should be watched carefully, as Saturn in Aquarius demands Accountability from you when it comes to matters involving your Career Life, Status, and Reputation. Remaining truthful and transparent will be imperative during the 7-10 days leading up to these dates, especially those surrounding the June 14 alignment.
That said, Taurus gets a fabulous shot of adrenaline in their Earned Income sector with the Solar Eclipse in Gemini on June 10, which will very likely involve the (re-)surfacing of a new source of income. Taurus is sure to get another big financial boost with the Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius on December 4, the ‘luckiest’ Eclipse of 2021.
As mentioned, Taurus is about practicality, perfection, and the art of persuasion. In other words, Taurus, whose ruling planet, Venus, gives Clooney his effortlessly suave and gently persuasive mien to lure The House (Aries) right into his (Venus) Fly Trap.
Being a Fixed (read: obsessive) Sign, Taurus compulsively creates elaborate schemes to ‘outsmart’ The House just long enough to get exactly what he (or she) wants: Love and, of course, a boatload of (Aries’) stolen cash.
You see, Taurus is gifted with the Power of Persuasion, charming many into doing things they’d typically swear they’d never even consider (at first). Taurus is (arguably) one of the Smoothest Operators of the Zodiac; yet their agenda is rarely (if ever) overt oftentimes, even to themselves.
Taurus moves with extreme secrecy, always with a hidden agenda and with an Ace clutched tightly up at least one of their perfectly-tailored sleeves. Taurus is a master manipulator, an expert at misdirection and so intent on achieving whatever their objective is (Taurus is the sign representing material possessions) – which typically involves Love, yet with Taurus, there’s rarely a moment that goes by when their mind is not tuned into the singular importance of Cold Hard Cash.
There’s an important relationship between Love and Money that Taurus embodies, and let’s just say that however placid Taurus may seem on the surface, Taurus is hell-bent on living ‘the Good Life,’ with innately refined (read: expensive) taste.
But underneath their taste for the Lap of Luxury is a carefully-concealed desire to not just to acquire money but the feeling of approval and popularity that living the high life often brings: clients coming to them, begging to make a deal; kind words from strangers telling them what a great party they’re throwing; laudatory comments and honorable mentions for their work in print.
Taurus is obsessed with the ‘bottom line,’ and always has money on its mind. Naturally, then, it’s quite the challenge should one attempt to separate a Taurus from their earnings, as Taurus goes to extreme lengths to protect not only their agendas but their assets – financial and emotional alike.
As a result, when Taurus decides to take a risk that could potentially jeopardize access to their precious creature comforts? There’s no doubt it’ll be an elaborate one wherein their ability to lean on their charisma and power of misdirection is the primary strategy.
The maximum potential for financial gain is what draws Taurus in, no matter what the activity, so games involving complex strategies designed to beat the odds are what attract Taurus most.
Card-counting at the Blackjack table or constantly (re-)calculating the House’s Edge in Sports Betting are best-suited to the Taurus type. That is, unless they’re in the middle of planning their own large-scale heist, with maximum potential for financial gain is what draws Taurus in.

The need to be liked, to feel beloved and accepted to, for lack of a better word, ‘people-please’ – is what drives Taurus to take whatever shortcuts necessary, even if they’re, let’s just say, slightly less than ethical.
White lies and sins of omission are commonly what gets Taurus into hot water with their beloved admirers, should their behind-closed-doors dealings (inevitably) be revealed. Taurus has a love/hate relationship with Rules, with a need for structure and dominance, especially over their families and closest associates (read: employees).
Famous Taureans like Mark Zuckerberg and Bernie Madoff are both star examples of their need for Secrecy, but above all, for their mutual drive for wealth being inextricably tied to how popular they feel.
And woe betides anyone who dares get in the way of Taurus’ pursuit of (social) capital. For instance, as much as Taurus yearns for social acceptance, their predilection for, let’s just say, ‘bucking’ authority is noteworthy in and of itself.
As Shakespeare would say, Taurus gets a perverse sort of pleasure when ‘biting one’s thumb at you’ – that is, once they’ve decided they’ve won, in some form or another.
Taurus strives to be accepted, if not adored, by others, for all that they do, whether they fulfill their promises (or just intend to). This is the primary impetus that inclines them to invent their own social universe (Mark Zuckerberg), of which they are the perpetual Lord and Master.
But far too often, Taurus sees money as a form of power over others an extension of their ability to attract: the notoriously possessive Bull will rarely give up any status, approbation much less any Love and Money they’ve won.
So, beware to whatever Authority (or worse, those in Taurus’ inner circle) who try to interfere or (god forbid) expose whatever less-than-kosher deals they’ve made or hard bargains they drive.
The buck stops with Taurus, stubborn and unyielding as they are when inhabiting any Power Player-type role in life. Otherwise? You might end up on the receiving end of Godfather Al Pacino (Taurus), indirectly (always indirectly) making you an offer you quite literally can’t refuse.
