Formerly known as the Revel Casino Hotel Atlantic City, the Ocean Resort Casino is an Atlantic City resort, hotel and casino. Set on an expansive 20-acre property, and a neighbor to the Showboat Hotel, it has become known as the northern-most casino on the Atlantic City Boardwalk
Revel Casino launched on the 2ndof April 2012 and, after declaring Chapter 11 Bankruptcy twice, it was one of four Atlantic City casinos to close in 2014.
Mere weeks after its closure, Revel Casino was sold for $90 million to Florida-based developer Glenn Straub's Polo North Country Club. The sale amount is said to be just a fraction of the construction costs. Revel was originally meant to be sold for $110 million to Brookfield Asset Management through an auction before the sale fell through.
After several delays and setbacks affecting the reopening, the casino was never actually open to the public while owned by Straub. In January of this year the sale of the property was finally announced to the public. Now named Ocean Resort Casino, officials recently set the official opening for the 28thof June 2018.
The 710-foot hotel tower of Ocean Resort and Casino has been recognized as the tallest structure in Atlantic City, the third tallest in NJ and the second tallest casino tower in the United States.
