Fonner Park Race History
Fonner Park has been in operation since 1953 in Nebraska and is considered the state's premier horse racing track. Normally thoroughbred horse races only take place there from mid-February through early May, but recent events allowed them to extend their racing season through the end of the month instead.
When Fonner Park is not running live horse races, you'll see them host the Hall County Fair and the Nebraska State Fair, the latter being one of the largest gatherings in the Cornhusker State.
The Fonner Park Concourse also hosts the Nebraska Racing Hall Of Fame, which includes items from the former Aksarben Track in Omaha.
Fonner Park is also the home venue of the Nebraska Danger football team, making it a central location for some of Nebraska's biggest sporting events. Snow Mountain is also considered part of the park, giving people a beautiful ski resort in the winter to enjoy.
