Caesars Casino has been playing their cards close as they stealthily speed ahead with their plans for sports-betting dominance in the NJ online casino market.
Their most recent announcement, just this past week after being exceptionally quiet on this matter in particular, is that Scientific Games has been appointed to support their sports betting in New Jersey; while additionally supporting their wagering operations in Mississippi.
Bally’s and Harrah’s, as part of the Caesar’s empire, opened temporary sportsbooks just last week in Atlantic City as the group goes live with NJ sports betting – Scientific Games supporting their online and retail operations.
Caesars Entertainment president and CEO Mark Frissora said in their press statement. “We recognize that our customers expect exciting new experiences, which is why we will continue to offer new products through our mobile and digital platforms and inside our properties. The recent Supreme Court ruling allows us to expand our sports betting digital and mobile offerings into new markets,”
OpenBet, the digital division and subsidiary of Scientific Games which is a market leader in iLottery, sports betting and iGaming services, will be driving Caesar’s operations. With their solid background and hailing from Las Vegas their assurance of providing “intuitive and sleek solutions” is a foregone conclusion for many in the game.
Scientific Games CEO Barry Cottle further said “We’re thrilled to partner with Caesars to help them bring best-in-class sports wagering experiences to their players. With OpenBet, our powerful and robust sportsbook platform, Caesars will have a truly open platform and end-to-end product suite that delivers the very best in flexible solutions and has proven success managing the largest share of the world’s online bets, more than 2 billion online bets annually. Our SG Digital team is excited to help Caesars stay ahead of the game, as they work to expand their sports betting, digital and mobile offerings into newly regulated markets.”
Caesars online casino had been rumored for quite some time to be entering the sports-betting arena, with industry gossip hotting up last month that August was set for their launch dates. Then just last week photographs started circulating on social media showing the temporary sportsbooks.
Mobile sports betting, according to Caesar’s will be introduced shortly via their Caesar’s Casino & Sports app as soon as the NJ regulatory time period is reached for doing so.
From the state’s side, NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement’s director, David Rebuck, had told the press that Caesar’s had made a last minute application for sports betting before the 16th July deadline. The reason for that date, he explained, was to allow the state agency sufficient time to inspect, vet and authorize applicants ahead of the September 5th kick-off of the NFL football season.
In the nine months that Caesar’s are permitted by law to operate their sports betting from temporary locations, they have assured their bettors that they will be building facilities on par with their properties in Nevada.
