NJ Online Casino Borgata Beats Caesars By $3 Million In September

In a record revenue month for online casinos in New Jersey as a whole, Borgata Online Casino saw its lead over fourth-place Caesars open to its widest point so far, even in a month where its revenue dropped a bit.

The first four spots on the list of top revenue earners from NJ online casinos have been as consistent as you can get, with Golden Nugget NJ Casino maintaining the top spot, strengthening its stranglehold over the competition. In second has been Resorts Digital, who had its strongest month in September as they near the $9-million mark for revenue while helping the state to a new revenue record.

The third and fourth-place spots have been Borgata and Caesars Online Casino throughout the year, although the gap has never been wider between the two. However, while Borgata was eking toward second place during the summer months, there's now a nearly $2 million difference between those marks.

Let's take a peek at both Borgata and Caesars and see how September shook out for both mainstays.

Borgata Slips Back Under $7 Million In September, Strengthens Hold On Third

Even though Borgata Online Casino couldn't stay above $7 million in monthly revenue with a total of $6,959,253 in September according to the latest figures from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, it still represents a stronger pace when compared to the beginning of 2019 when they were posting numbers in the 4s and 5s. This is its third straight month with revenue above $6 million as the brand has seemed to take a turn toward strength compared to when they were neck-and-neck with Caesars Casino Online earlier in the year.

Climbing from the mid-$4 million level to nearly $7 million now is a huge jump for Borgata and one that shouldn't go unnoticed even in comparison to the two brands above them, Golden Nugget and Resorts Digital. After setting a revenue record of $7.13, Resorts only slipped down by around $170,000 in September.

Its 2019 year-to-date totals are at $52,740,623 after adjustments, which has Borgata very close to eclipsing its 2018 totals with a monthly average of $5.86 million. They should be able to defeat its 2018 totals when October's numbers are revealed.

The biggest takeaway from these latest figures is how Borgata was able to maintain its new status quo in the midst of Caesars' revenue numbers falling.

Caesars Posts Its Lowest Monthly Revenue Total In 2019

What's shocking coming out of the NJ online casino revenue numbers for September is how far back Caesars fell from the top 3 spots amid record numbers for the online casino operators as a whole.

In what is hopefully just a blip that will go away when compared to the rest of the year once all is said and done, Caesars Online Casino tallied its lowest monthly revenue in 2019 with its September mark of $3,946,651.

Its lowest mark before that in 2019 was in February, which was a slow month for many top casinos. Its new year-to-date total is $42,085,427 with adjustments, so they're closing in on beating its 2018 totals, but at a much slower pace than its previous monthly average of $4.77. Hopefully, when we report on the October numbers, we see Caesars pick back up and close the breach between them and the top 3 online casinos in terms of revenue.
