When it comes to New Jersey online casinos generating profits, none do it quite like Golden Nugget. With help from several strong operators under its umbrella, it is the clear industry leader in producing revenue and has been for the last couple of years. In 2019, Golden Nugget is taking things to a new level, and the most recent revenue report from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement is just the latest indication.
Before we get into the numbers, here’s a quick rundown of the online casinos in New Jersey that are helping Golden Nugget Online remain on top:
Golden Nugget’s signature brand continuously offers awesome promotions and continues to thrive. It applied late in 2018 for a Pennsylvania online casino license and will be set to join the PA online sports betting market, which is expected to go live by summer 2019.
About a year into Paddy Power Betfair acquiring FanDuel Sportsbook, things appear to be going swimmingly. Betfair is sharing wallets with the 2019 New Jersey sports betting industry leader, which gives you a chance to easily shift back and forth between sports betting and online casino games in the Garden State. To this point in 2019, FanDuel is separating itself in the New Jersey sports betting revenue race.
SugarHouse isn’t only making waves as part of the Golden Nugget team in New Jersey. SugarHouse Online Sportsbook is already achieving success, and now the brand has expanded into the Keystone State as well. SugarHouse Sportsbook PA was the first Pennsylvania sports betting operator to move into the online space and is expected to continue being one of the top names in the industry.
BetAmerica is the newest addition to the NJ online casino industry under Golden Nugget after making its name in the horse racing space. Although Golden Nugget was in control before BetAmerica’s addition, it can’t hurt to have more established names on board, and it appears to have only helped to this point.
Golden Nugget Registers Massive May To Expand NJ Online Casino Revenue Lead
Following April 2019, Golden Nugget had established an ever-growing lead on its peers in terms of NJ online casino revenue. At around $51 million through the first four months of the year, it’s next closest competitor was Resorts Digital Gaming at under $30 million.
According to May’s numbers, that lead is continuing to widen as each month passes. After pulling in slightly more than $14 million in gross revenue compared to Resorts Digital making $7.14 million, Golden Nugget now totals more than $65 million in year-to-date revenue and holds a nearly $30 million lead on second place.
The chart below details Golden Nugget’s internet gaming gross revenue earnings by month so far this calendar year, per the New Jersey DGE report:
Month/Year |
January 2019 |
February 2019 |
March 2019 |
April 2019 |
May 2019 |
YTD Total |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Internet Gaming Gross Revenue |
$12,185,043 |
$10,701,266 |
$14,227,820 |
$13,854,527 |
$14,078,208 |
$65,080,083 |
Although $14.08 million isn’t the highest monthly revenue total this year ($14.23 million in March), the May number comes in a very close second. Golden Nugget has managed double-digits in each of the first five months of the year, putting itself on a pace to easily surpass the nearly $105 million generated last year. If the past few months are a sign of things to come, Golden Nugget will continue taking NJ online casino industry dominance to new heights as the summer of 2019 progresses.
