NJ Online Casinos Revenue Report - FanDuel Sportsbook Shines In April

NJ Online Casinos Revenue Report - FanDuel Sportsbook Shines In April

We are nearly a year into the launch of NJ online sports betting, and the industry is still dominated by two operators: FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook according to the latest NJ online casinos revenue reports from April. Both brands have exploded in popularity since legal sports betting made its way to the Garden State, but one appears to have become the clear leader in 2019.

According to the most recent revenue reports from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement for NJ online casino and sports betting, FanDuel Sportsbook is putting some space between itself and its biggest competitor. In fact, a pattern began emerging since February and now FanDuel has produced more revenue than DraftKings for a third consecutive month. Currently, FanDuel Sportsbook has produced about $12 million more in year-to-date revenue, and that gap could get even wider as the year goes on.

FanDuel Sportsbook Turned The Tables On DraftKings In Terms Of Revenue In 2019

In order to accurately break down revenue from the two largest New Jersey sports betting operators, it’s important to know where you can find their products. Much of what is generated for Resorts Digital Gaming fomes from DraftKings Sportsbook, while FanDuel Sportsbook is what powers operations at Meadowlands Racetrack. Based on marketing and brand awareness, we have reason to anticipate the vast majority of revenues for Resorts and Meadowlands come from DraftKings and FanDuel, respectively.

The above chart displays month-by-month revenue results to this point in 2019, and it shows how things have shifted in FanDuel’s favor.

Even January went to DraftKings while NFL playoffs dominated the sports calendar, but everything shifted as FanDuel surged ahead beginning in the second month of the year. FanDuel was the New Jersey sports  betting operator able to withstand the end of football season and carry momentum into March Madness, where it cleaned up with a year-high $13.32 million in revenue earned.

After opening up a year-to-date advantage of around $8 million following the month of March, FanDuel Sportsbook produced $8.78 million in revenue to just $4.77 million for DraftKings, growing that lead to the number it stands at currently. If things continue trending in this direction, there may be less and less of a competition by the time NJ sports betting reaches its first birthday.
