NJ Online Casinos Revenue: Resorts Digital Keeps Grip On Second Place

NJ Online Casinos Revenue: Resorts Digital Keeps Grip On Second Place

Going by revenue numbers released by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, Resorts Digital was still able to hold its second-place standing out of all online casinos in New Jersey in June 2019.

It marks the first time since February 2019 that they failed to rake in over $7 million, however, as their total online revenue for the month dropped over $1 million from May's number. The gap between them and third place Borgata Online Casino shrunk from around $2 million in May to less than $1 million in June. All that said, Resorts is still profiting at a strong clip for 2019, with $43.57 million in total revenue for 2019, which is easily good for second place behind a dominant Golden Nugget with an average of $7.26 million per month for the year.

Resorts Backed By Powerful Brands Such As DraftKings, PokerStars NJ

Much like Golden Nugget, Resorts Digital relies on several strong brands under its umbrella to contribute to revenue generation. Powerful allies make for profitable returns, and Resorts Digital is experiencing that first-hand with some of the best online casinos in New Jersey. Below is an outline of each of the brands helping Resorts remain near the top of the money-making list.

  • Resorts Online Casino

The flagship site Resorts Online Casino was the first land-based casino to set up shop in Atlantic City and remains a reliable betting option. Their Echelon VIP loyalty program sets themselves apart from most other online gambling sites and they offer access to one of the more popular sports betting sites in NJ.

  • DraftKings Casino

DraftKings not only boats some advantageous wagering lines, but it also offers convenience on the casino end. It pairs its online betting app with access to DraftKings Casino to create a one-stop-shop for players who want to take part in sports betting and slot games all at once. DraftKings has been an industry powerhouse since launching in the Garden State and contributes mightily to Resorts’ standing.

Resorts partnered with Mohegan Sun back in 2012 in an attempt to pull them out of some tough financial difficulties and attract more customers. Pairing up with one of the largest and best casinos in the US paid dividends, and now both sides profit from that partnership at land-based and online.

  • PokerStars NJ

The success of the Mohegan Sun deal gave Resorts Casino the chance to create another valuable partnership with PokerStars NJ. Not only does Resorts have many affiliates in the online casino realm, but they have a great NJ online poker partner in PokerStars as well.

Resorts Digital Easily Outpacing Last Year’s Revenue Earings

Although Resorts Digital saw a drop in their overall NJ online casino revenue in June, it still shouldn't distract you from seeing the big picture. Resorts has been on a torrid revenue pace for 2019, almost surpassing their 2018 totals in merely half a year. Online gambling sites in New Jersey as a whole are setting new records, and for Resorts to be in second place out of all of them is nothing short of impressive. Check out the monthly breakdown below using figures from the New Jersey DGE:

Resorts had their biggest month in March, surpassing $8 million in revenue for the first time. April saw it drop back down to $7.14 million, but pop back up in May with $7.97 million. It hit another bump in June with $6.93 million, but their overall numbers are still very strong. The lesson here is consistency, as Resorts' numbers aren't mindblowing, but steady and continuously solid without much dropoff month-to-month. With flourishing partnerships and last year's revenue total about to be surpassed, Resorts is reaching new heights in the New Jersey online casino industry.
