Despite the extended absence of live sports, there is an upcoming event that could signal a bit of normalcy for football fans: betting on the 2020 NFL Draft.
Although the draft has been forced into an all-virtual format, it will still take place from April 23-25 and will be the first mainstream sporting event in the United States that fans can gamble on since the early part of March. Knowing the betting public in the United States is starving for sports, sites all over are stepping up their game for this year’s event.
Among the options at NJ sports betting sites are markets based on which position a given team will draft in the first round and who the exact prospect will be. This is where our 2020 NFL Draft betting predictions come into play.
With betting having such a huge impact in states like New Jersey, there’s no time like the present to look at the draft situations currently facing the local teams and analyzing the betting options surrounding their first-round pick. Up first is the New York Giants, which own the No. 4 overall pick in the draft.
Consider the following sites for NFL Draft betting predictions regarding the G-Men:

We’ve also taken the time to preview the betting markets surrounding several teams in addition to the Giants, and we’ve got NFL Draft betting predictions for each one:
Fans and bettors all over the tri-state area are gearing up for the 2020 NFL Draft and wondering ‘who will the Giants draft?’ when it comes time to announce the first-round selection.
Before we get into which players the New York Giants are considering with the No. 4 pick, we’re trying to decide which position the G-Men may target.
Make Giants Draft Predictions At FanDuel!
Not to give away too much from the next part of our article, but the odds for Big Blue drafting a linebacker are basically dependent upon the selection of Clemson’s Isaiah Simmons, who is the only option for the position at this point in the draft. This is assuming Ohio State DE Chase Young is off the board by then, of course.
When it comes to making Giants NFL Draft betting predictions on position, we need to keep in mind the fact that this team needs offensive line help and there are four top-tier tackles that GM Dave Gettleman could to choose from with the No. 4 pick.
Considering there are so many options in this draft position for the offensive line, it makes sense that oddsmakers lean toward this position as the greatest possibility.
Gettleman is aware he needs to protect franchise QB Daniel Jones and provide some running room for RB Saquon Barkley. Because the betting odds are still manageable, we’d rather take our chances guessing a lineman will be picked rather than put all of our eggs in Simmons’ basket.
Predictions for the exact player that a team will select is no small feat, so we’ll see that most options in these markets come with pretty high-paying odds. In the case of Big Blue, the largest team needs are offensive line and the front seven, whether it be an edge rusher or a linebacker.
Make NFL Draft Prop Betting Picks At BetMGM!
We mentioned above that a defensive selection will have to be Clemson LB Isaiah Simmons based on the board. According to oddsmakers, however, four of the five top betting options are offensive tackles and it’s hard to argue with that.
Considering the need to protect Jones and Barkley along with the fact that most Giants mock draft results have the team selecting a lineman, this would be a smart direction to go. The decision for New York doesn’t have to put value over need because in this case, both can be had with the same selection.
Most mock drafts put Iowa OT Tristan Wirfs ahead of the field, which includes Jedrick Wills Jr. (Alabama), Mekhi Becton (Louisville), and Andrew Thomas (Georgia). the options at the top are graded pretty similarly, so which one is the pick?
If we use the odds as a guide, they also point directly to Wirfs. Since New York is likely going to have its choice, we like the somewhat safe play of selecting the best player on the board at that position. Placing a wager on the selection of Wirfs may not pay as well compared to other options, but you can still double your money with the second of our NFL Draft betting tips.
