Following a successful return at the Charles Schwab Challenge, the PGA Tour moves to Hilton Head, South Carolina and we are here to provide some RBC Heritage predictions!

This event, which takes place at Harbour Town Golf Links every year, normally comes right after The Masters in April but due to the updated PGA Tour calendar, it’s taking place in June as the second event back following the suspension of the season.

Online sportsbooks in New Jersey and various other states saw tons of action from the public looking to make golf betting picks last week, and the same can be expected while the PGA is one of the only major pro sports leagues in operation.

Below, we’ll preview Harbour Town and provide some betting predictions for the RBC Heritage!

2020 RBC Heritage Betting Tips – Golf Betting Strategy

Before placing any bets, it’s good to know the characteristics of the course along with any other factors that could come into play.

In addition to looking at recent results from last week, going by some key statistics is a great way to find out which golfers are a fit for the course. Here are some stats to keep in mind at Harbour Town, where par is 70 and the grounds stretch just over 7,100 yards:

  • Strokes Gained: Total
  • SG: Approach The Green
  • SG: Scrambling
  • SG: Putting
  • Birdie or Better Percentage
  • Greens In Regulation Percentage

The course may be relatively short by PGA Tour standards but that doesn’t mean it’s a track that big hitters will automatically be able to overpower. There are trees all over and the greens are notably small, so this tournament lends itself to players who are strong with putting and scrambling to score well.

The main strategy at Harbour Towns would be to focus on accuracy over power, especially considering each of the past two winners gained plenty of strokes on approach to the green. Golfers with the ability to find fairways and manage the grounds are attractive options this week.

It may also be worth noting that -12 was the winning score in each of the past two tournaments, although the 2018 edition went to a playoff. For more tips and information on how to wager on the PGA Tour, visit our Golf Betting Guide!

RBC Heritage Predictions – Golf Betting Picks

RBC Heritage OddsMake RBC Heritage Picks At BetMGM!

Despite the fact that not every big-name player is in this event, it’s still a more star-studded field than normal with plenty of the world’s best committed to the field, which isn’t normally the case.

The RBC’s usual spot the week after The Masters makes it a popular rest week for players, so some golfers just haven’t taken part in this event as much as others and some of those top players may not be as familiar with Harbour Town. What does that mean for the tournament in Hilton Head? That’s anyone’s guess.

There are plenty of sportsbooks with weekly golf lines but not every site offers the same bonuses to new players in addition to those odds. At BetMGM, new players don’t only get the chance to wager on a variety of different categories because you can also sign up and Claim Your First Deposit Bonus Up To $500 at BetMGM!

Once you’re signed up, consider the following when making 2020 RBC Heritage predictions:

  • Bryson DeChambeau To Win (+1200)

At first glance, there may not be a player more suited to win this week at Harbour Town than DeChambeau, and that’s supported by the stats, his results this season, and his low odds.

The 26-year-old American made waves at Colonial and has gained massive amounts of power on his swing over the past year (including 20 extra pounds during the shutdown) in order to drive the ball further, but it hasn’t negatively impacted his all-around game.

DeChambeau is one of the best in the sport off the tee but also excels at scrambling, putting and total strokes gained. In four starts at Harbour Town, he has two top-five finishes (2016, 2018) and is coming off a T-3rd at the Charles Schwab, where some of the same stats can be applied.

Considering he has six top-15 finishes in eight events this season and is coming off a week in which he went 66 or lower on three occasions, DeChambeau might be perfect for your RBC Heritage picks, even if the payout isn’t as high. Shopping around could lead to +1400 or +1500 depending on the site.

  • Matt Kuchar To Win (+4000)

Another name to potentially keep an eye on this week is Matt Kuchar, who ranks inside the top 30 in the World Golf Rankings and finished solo 2nd at this event last year after a T-23 finish in 2018. After missing the cut in the first event back at Colonial, Kuchar should also be well-rested heading into this year’s event.

Even though there are stronger players in the field, past experience at the RBC should go a long way and so should Kuchar’s excellent putting and accuracy off the tee. Once taking into account the value and the fact that the rust should be knocked off a little bit, a few bucks on Kuchar could be a lucrative option for those in search of a short-course slayer.

  • Webb Simpson To Win (+2800)

Heading into play at Colonial, we loved Simpson to put up some great scores and wind up near the top of the leaderboard. That didn’t happen unfortunately and he missed the cut, but we aren’t letting it discourage us too much because the long layoff can create some rust. The fact remains that Simpson ranks in the top 20 in scrambling, approaching the green, birdie or better percentage, and greens in regulation, just to name a few.

The point is that before the break, there were few golfers in the form that Webb was displaying and the results bear that out. In five events through March 2020, Simpson posted one win, three top-five finishes, and four top 10s. Things went sideways early at the Charles Schwab but there may be no better bounce-back candidate.

Simpson is definitely a name to shop around with because even though BetMGM has him at +2800, he may be found north of +3000 elsewhere.

RBC Heritage Picks 2020 – Finishing Position Golf Betting

There are several golf online betting sites that offer odds for markets beyond outright winners, but few have quite as many betting options as the industry leaders. For that reason, we are using DraftKings Sportsbook lines to make RBC Heritage betting predictions on finishing position in the top 20, 30, and 40 going into action this week.

RBC Heritage DKBet On RBC Heritage At DraftKings!

Some of the best players teeing it up this week may not be as familiar with Harbour Town means there should be some value as you creep down the odds board, especially in the finishing positions markets. There could also be some enticing lines for top-tier players making their debut at this event.

Not only will DraftKings a huge range of markets for golf bettors, but it will also offer a generous welcome bonus to new players. So sign up to Claim $25, A Deposit Match Bonus Up To $500, and Up To $500 from DraftKings, then consider the following options:

  • Collin Morikawa Top 20 (+138)

Morikawa finishing in the top 40 was the best bet from our Charles Schwab Challenge predictions and if it wasn’t for a couple of missed putts late, he would’ve earned his second PGA Tour victory. Instead, he settled for second place after losing in a playoff to Daniel Berger.

The truth is that Morikawa may have let one get away at Colonial, and this will be the first time he’s asked to bounce back from real adversity. Even though he’s never played at this tournament or this course professionally, we’re confident in the consistency that Morikawa provides. Oddsmakers seem to agree since he’s got the sixth-lowest odds to win this week.

Morikawa has 21 cuts made in 21 starts in his career and until that streak is halted, we are riding the wave. The 23-year old ranks second on tour when approaching the green and even improved on his putting, where he was top 20 in strokes gained against a stacked field.

He’s got eight top-25 finishes in 12 events this season and judging by the irons Morikawa was swinging at Colonial, we don’t mind looking at him to jump into the top 20 as he puts last Sunday behind him with another strong performance.

  • Dustin Johnson Top 30 (+110)

Even though this course doesn’t really suit his style of play, Johnson is one of the few top-ranking players in the world that has regularly been in the field of this event at Harbour Town, so he knows the place. After going in the top 20 in 2018, a final-round implosion is the only reason Johnson landed in 28th place in 2019.

The issue is that this field is much stronger than in past years and the No. 6 player in the world is not enjoying a successful 2020 season to this point, although that could also mean Johnson is due for a big week. Considering familiarity with the track is one advantage he has over the competition, this may be a week to consider DJ as one of your 2020 RBC Heritage betting picks, but we wouldn’t venture past the top 20 or 30.

  • Kevin Kisner Top 30 (+138)

Kisner is a player whose season hasn’t been all that impressive to this point, but we are selecting him for reasons other than current form. Kisner is a South Carolina native who grew up playing at Harbour Town long before playing seven PGA Tour events there since 2011.

He’s referred to the RBC Heritage as his favorite event on tour, and we expect him to be ready for the homecoming to a place where he’s performed well. A disappointing weekend put Kisner in 41st place at last year’s event but that comes after a seventh-place finish in 2018 and a solo 2nd in 2015. He drives the ball accurately and ranked 20th in strokes gained with the putter in 2019 before a tough start to the current season.
