As we move past the first major of the year, the scene is shifting to South Carolina and we’re here to make some 2021 RBC Heritage betting picks!
The event will take place from April 15 through 18 at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head and it’s back in its normal place on the calendar after being played in June during the 2020 season. It may not hold the same prestige as The Masters but we can still expect to see plenty of action at online sportsbooks in New Jersey and many other states with legal betting.
The RBC Heritage has been played in Hilton Head since 1969 and since it’s an invitational event, so there is a reduced field of 132 players. As for the course, Harbour Town was designed by famed architect Pete Dye with assistance from Jack Nicklaus, as it’s very different from what we just saw at Augusta National.
The track measures about 7,100 yards and 70 is par for the course. Keep some of the following in mind if looking for Harbour Town keys stats:

Harbour Town may be short PGA Tour standards but that doesn’t mean it’s one that big hitters will automatically be able to overpower. For this week, we would lean toward players with a great short game as opposed to defaulting to bombers off the tee.
Rather than driving distance, accuracy off the tee and on approach are far more important. Hitting these greens in regulation is notably difficult and well-placed bunkers also cover the property. Chipping around the green should also come into play with greens inevitably being missed. Golfers with the ability to find fairways and manage the grounds are attractive options this week.
We are also looking for players who can handle the windy conditions and still make birdie, as Webb Simpson won with a score of -22 last year. Consider the following in one form or another for your 2021 RBC Heritage betting predictions (all odds courtesy of DraftKings):
If you want fairways and greens, can you do much better than Morikawa? He’s 10th in driving accuracy, third in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green, and best on tour in SG: Approach.
Morikawa hasn’t exactly lit it up since his win at Concession in February, and it’s certain tough to win multiple events in a season. But when we look at the stats that matter, Morikaiwa’s profile just matches up to well. In addition to an outright wager, consider a top 10 bet.
Ancer has been playing very good golf over the past two months, and we think that form extends to Harbour Town. He’s got a T-2nd finish from last year to hang his hat on, and his game suits this course pretty well.
We want golfers who hit fairways and hit greens, and Ancer does both. He boasts a strong tee-to-green game and excels with his irons, proven by his leading the field in Strokes Gained: Approach in this event a year ago. He also ranks top 20 on tour in Greens In Regulation this season.
Zalatoris’ rookie season on tour just keeps getting better. He started the year with a T-6th finish at the US Open and he followed that up with a dazzling second-place finish at The Masters last week. Between the two majors, he’s put together an incredible run, highlighted by several top-20s and a 21st-place finish at The Players Championship.
Even though he will be a popular pick this week, we are sticking with Zalatoris and the current roll he is on. He’s already one of the best iron players in the game, which will suit him very well at Harbour Town, and he’s ranked fourth on tour in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green. We’re getting him at plus-money for the top 20 in case there’s a little bit of a drop off after his stellar debut at Augusta.
We will continue to add and update selections until players tee off on Thursday, so check back throughout the week once all of the 2021 RBC Heritage Tournament odds are posted!
