Celtics vs Raptors Predictions
Not only are the Celtics the top against-the-spread team in the NBA in terms at 68 percent (17-8-2), this team is also among the league leaders on the road at 8-5-1. Toronto, for its part, is an excellent 11-5 against the number at home. So where does that put us?
Boston has now won three games in a row and is resting for Christmas while the Raptors have to play on the road Monday night before traveling home for one day of rest. Taking into account the schedule and the Celtics' current form, give us the road team to win as small favorites.
NBA Christmas Pick: Boston Celtics ML (-139)
Bucks vs 76ers Predictions
This is the first of three meetings for the two best teams in the Eastern Conference, and there isn't much separating them. As a whole, this is less about one game and more about the first chapter in a three-part series this season.
The 76ers are a dominant 15-2 on their home floor and are getting a point in this matchup, while the Bucks are an amazing 12-2 on the road this season. Philadelphia is an average team against the spread and Milwaukee is slightly above average, but this is another game where the small number sort of negates those ATS records.
It's never easy picking against Philadelphia in any home game, but the Bucks have won 21 of 22 games with several impressive road wins along the way. Giannis Antentokounmpo is the best player on the floor every game, so while a healthy Joel Embiid (illness) definitely helps Philly, we expect a playoff-type atmosphere and a very small margin of victory for the away team.
NBA Christmas Pick: Milwaukee Bucks ML (-109)
Rockets vs Warriors Predictions
This game isn't turning out to be what NBA schedule-makers intended when putting it on this slate. Still, the Rockets are must-see TV for basketball fans, and James Harden is appointment television. The lefty is averaging nearly 39 points and eight rebounds per game as Houston occupies the No. 3 spot in the west. It's really no wonder the Rockets are such big favorites at NJ betting sites.
Both teams play Monday, so the rest factor doesn't lean one way or the other. Giving away nearly double-digits in any game is never comforting, but the Warriors' offense simply lacks the explosiveness needed to keep up. Make the Rockets part of your Christmas Day NBA picks, but do some line shopping for the best number.
NBA Christmas Pick: Houston Rockets -9.5 (-110)

Clippers vs Lakers Predictions
After meeting on the opening night of the regular season, the Clippers and Lakers play once again in the battle for Staples Center. The Lakers are comfortably at the top of the Western Conference at 24-6 while the Clippers are a few games back at 22-10, although there's still plenty of time when it comes to the standings. It was Kawhi Leonard's team that won the first matchup by 10 points back in October, but is there revenge for the Lakers?
The Lakers have lost three games in a row and should get LeBron James (muscle strain) back for Christmas Day, but will it be enough? It doesn't help that Anthony Davis (knee) is also questionable to play. Assuming LeBron is healthy, one wants to feel comfortable with the Lakers as a small favorite on the surface. I mean, it would seem tough for this team to lose four games in a row with the talent on that roster, right?
But considering the Lakers' current skid and the fact that both James and Davis aren't in top form, we are going with Kawhi and the Clippers to make it another close win against the crosstown rivals. After all, the Lakers aren't about to push it with their two stars in a game that doesn't really matter in the long run, even if its on national television during the holiday season. The NBA is about stars, and the Clippers have healthy ones.
NBA Christmas Pick: Los Angeles Clippers -1.5 (-110)
Pelicans vs. Nuggets Predictions
To close out our NBA Christmas Day predictions, we go to the Mile High City for Denver and New Orleans. To change things up, however, we are looking at making an NBA totals pick instead of going with the spread. Currently, the number is set at 219.5 points for Wednesday evening.
People see the Pelicans and Nuggets as high-powered offensive teams, which they are, and immediately assume their games go over the total. The reality is otherwise, as the over is 6-10 in home games in Denver and only 8-7 in New Orleans' road games.
The Pelicans' offense is one of the slowest in the league while the Nuggets are on an impressive winning streak that has seen them allow more than 105 points just twice in 12 December games.
NBA Christmas Pick: Pelicans-Nuggets Under 219.5 (-108)
