TNF Preview: Cowboys vs. Bears Betting Prediction Week 14
Both of these teams played on Thanksgiving Day, though the first-place Cowboys lost a crucial game at home while the Bears kept their slim playoff hopes alive with a win. With matching records of 6-6, this matchup will have some impact on the NFC playoff picture regardless of the result.
Despite being away from home, Dallas is currently a three-point favorite with the total set at 43 points according to SugarHouse, which has some of the most reliable NFL lines you can find on NJ betting sites in the Garden State.
Cowboys Betting Preview Week 14
It was a disappointing Thanksgiving Day as the Bills' offense had its way and the Cowboys dropped to 6-6 on the season and 7-5 against the spread. Thankfully, an Eagles loss on Sunday means the Cowboys are still in first place in the NFC East. It was just the latest example of Dallas' up-and-down season, which has now seen three losses in four games.
It appears as though the Cowboys are attempting to give away the division, but Philadelphia doesn't appear to want it. Still, the Eagles have a very easy schedule to close the season, so this win would go far to ensure a playoff spot for Dallas, especially since the loser of this division will not be getting a Wild Card berth.
Truth be told, the brutal stretch of the schedule is over for the Cowboys too, and the NFC playoff picture will look much brighter with a win in Week 14. QB Dak Prescott still leads the NFL in passing yards (3,788) and may hit 4,000-yard mark in this game while quarterbacking an offense that entered last week rated No. 2 in the league, according to DVOA metrics from Football Outsiders.
Bears Betting Preview Week 14
The Bears saved their slim playoff hopes with a win in Detroit on Thanksgiving, bringing their record to 6-6 on the season. Chicago remains dead last against the spread, however, with a 3-9 record following another ATS loss.
It's no secret that the bears would rather run the ball with David Montgomery, especially against the Cowboys' underwhelming run defense. The problem is, they have the second-lowest rated rushing offense in the league going by analysis from Football Outsiders. That could lead to trusting Mitch Trubisky to move the offense down the field with his arm, which may not be easy against Dallas' top-10 pass defense.
The good news is Trubskisty is coming off his best game of the season after going over 300 yards for the first time and racking up three passing touchdowns. Considering the Cowboys' penchant for inconsistency, maybe Trubisky and the Bears' offense won't appear so anemic.

Week 14 NFL Picks: Cowboys vs. Bears Predictions
Despite the numbers from Trubisky, the Bears desperately needed late-game heroics to beat a third-string quarterback and a team that has mailed in the season. Throw in the 25 percent cover rate and consider: is that a team we can trust over a potential playoff club, albeit an underwhelming one?
Part of the key for the Cowboys is Jason Garrett getting out of his team's way and committing to running the ball with Ezekiel Elliott against the Bears' suspect run defense. Keep in mind that Dallas successfully moved the ball on Buffalo (426 total yards) but failed to come up with points. We don't see the same story playing out again, so we are taking the Cowboys against the spread for our TNF picks in Week 14.

NFL Week 14 Picks: Thursday Night Football Best Bets
As of this writing, SugarHouse PA only has NFL betting odds posted for the moneyline spread, and total for this game, so there aren't too many options. Since we've already chosen the spread, we look to the over-under of 43 points.
It should be above freezing on Thursday evening, but there will be some wind swirling around Soldier Field. Add that to the fact that both teams are going to work to establish the run game, and we could see chunks of clock eaten off.
Natural grass surfaces also tend to play as a slower track, and all of that added up has us going with under 43 (-110) as part of our TNF predictions.
