NJ sports betting is a huge success. The state’s online sportsbooks reported $8.8 million in revenue for October. And for September, when most of the major league sports were going on, they generated $12.6 million in revenue.
DraftKings Sportsbook NJ set itself apart from the beginning and now has a firm grip on more than half of the market. Given that it is an online sportsbook, with no physical location to support it, DraftKings relies entirely on its technology and the ability to launch new modes and features before any of its competitors.
DK’s tech partner Kambi helps them stay on the cutting edge of innovation in online sports betting.
The newest feature from the company is DraftKings Sportsbook Pools, which is a sports betting mode that is less intensive and demanding from the players, but still offers a good chance to win some big money.
Sports Betting Evolves To Provide Something For Everyone
When online sports betting was finally allowed in New Jersey, everybody cheered and celebrated. It was the first time that online sports betting apps were not intentionally crippled, something that is still going on in Nevada.
Developers were given a carte blanche and the new online sports betting apps came out with some very innovative options. The diversity of sports, games, type of wagers and bonus games meant anybody can play the way they want to and get the most out of the platform.
Fans who want to dive deep into the game and do some serious betting are living the dream right now. However, occasional players, who just place a random bet every now and then, are looking for some casual fun.
The diversity of the game and the hundreds of options may be too much at times for casual players. That’s why the simplicity of DraftKings Sportsbook Pools is such a great idea.
What Are DraftKings Sportsbook Pools And How Do They Work?
DraftKings shows they are thinking about the casual player and have come up with a game type to fulfil their need. DK sportsbook just recently launched their new betting mode, Sportsbook Pools.
This is new type of sports betting offers a very different play style. Players need to answer a set of questions which predict the outcome of a series of games. Each questions comes with multiple predetermined answers and players need to pick the answer they think is correct. Whoever answers the questions correct will enter the winner pool and get a share of the total prize.
Everybody has had multiple-choice tests before, but this one can really pay itself off.
Sportsbook Pools come in the form of contests and each one has unique rules regarding the entry fee, the amount and difficulty of the questions and so forth. However, in general, they appeal to more casual players, because it allows for approximating the answer based on some knowledge of the game.
In comparison, traditional sports betting requires people to do a fair bit of math and show deep knowledge in the sport in order to place the correct bets.
First DraftKings Sportsbook Pool Contest Was For NFL Week 10
The opening Sportsbook Pool contest asked players to pick the winners of the Sunday and Monday games in Week 10 of the National Football League.
Players needed to predict a total of 13 games for the week. Players with 11 correct picks or more would get a reward - an equal piece of their tiers share.
- 11 correct answers - 20% of the pool
- 12 correct answers - 30% of the pool
- 13 correct answers - 50% of the pool
Each tier would divide the its share equally between all players who made the same amount of correct predictions.
The entry to the contest was $20. To sweeten the deal, DraftKings guaranteed for a minimum $200,000 prize pool.
Sportsbook Pools Follows The Success Of DraftKings Pick’em Team
DraftKings launched a similar contest for the first NFL game of the 2018 season. The contest was free and DraftKings paid the prize pool of $25,000. The prize was shared between all players who correctly guessed all the games.
The final reward for each player wasn’t as much as a Sportsbook Pool award, but there were no barriers and no risks for playing. The Pick’em contest was very successful and it opened the door for DraftKings to continue that game-type model.
Overall, DraftKings Sportsbook Pools is a great new feature that will give everybody a chance to get into sports betting regardless if they are a beginner or a pro.
