Browns vs. Jets - MNF Picks And Predictions Week 2

Cleveland (0-1) are going on the road against New York (0-1) as favorites by nearly according to lines from FanDuel Sportsbook, which now operates as one of the best PA sportsbooks following its recent launch in the Keystone State.

Jets Browns Odds Week 2Bet On Browns-Jets At FanDuel NJ

In the wake of some injury news surrounding the Jets, the line jumped from Browns -2.5 (-110) all the way to Browns -6.5 (-110), according to lines from FanDuel Sportsbook. The total, once around 46 points is now down to 44.5 (-120) at FanDuel.

Jets Betting Preview Week 2

It's just the second week of the season and there's so much we don't know about both teams at this point, but there is a little bit to go on. What we do know is that the Jets blew a 16-point lead to Buffalo in Week 1 and will be without starting QB Sam Darnold (illness) in Week 2, and could be without RB Le'Beon Bell and LB C.J. Mosley as well.

What to expect from backup QB Trevor Siemian is anyone's guess, so handicapping the Jets' offense feels impossible. The defense, which forced four first-half turnovers in Week 1, fell apart without Mosley and is also a complete question mark. In order to avoid 0-2, New York is in need of a few pleasant surprises, starting with its best playmakers being healthy.

Browns Betting Preview Week 2

If the Jets are indeed shorthanded, Cleveland QB Baker Mayfield and his stable of weapons won't be complaining. Mayfield threw three interceptions and took five sacks while the offense put up deceivingly high numbers in a 43-13 home loss to Tennessee. For a team supposed to win the NFC North, that's not going to get the job done.

Since the Jets' run defense is their strength, the passing game will be where the Browns do damage. With Mayfield throwing to the likes of Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry against a suspect defensive backfield, we expect to see better than 1-for-10 efficiency on third down and 13 points. For what it's worth, Beckham's had plenty of moments in MetLife Stadium as a member of the Giants.

Week 2 MNF Browns vs Jets Betting Line

One game isn't enough to completely abandon the thought that Cleveland is one of the most talented teams in the AFC. Last Sunday was ugly, but things are lining up for them to right the ship in prime time, and it's hard to feel otherwise with all the extra things surrounding the Jets at the moment.

The Browns have something to prove, especially on offense after the showing last week. We expect them to come out firing on a Jets defensive backfield that leaves a lot to be desired and could be shorthanded. We will say, however, that it's always risky to discount home underdogs, no matter how bad they appear (see Raiders Week 1).

Sam Darnold may become a star NFL quarterback one day, but in 2019 is not worth the four points this spread jumped when his absence was announced. Backing New York may come back to bite us, but we're taking a shot that Siemian can captain the Jets' offense to a cover. If this number reaches +7, even better.

Pick: Jets +6.5 (-110) & Under 44.5 (-120) - Place Your Bet At FanDuel Sportsbook NJ

Monday Night Football Best Bet For Week 2

Jets Browns OddsPlace Your Bets At FanDuel PA

Our favorite market offered by the FanDuel app in Pennsylvania does not include the spread, moneyline or total.

It should be noted that Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is very familiar with the Browns from his time in Cleveland and we aren't sure how shorthanded this team will or won't be once Monday night comes. For that reason, we'd like to take the spread out of play with the expectation that New York shows up with maximum effort and won't be embarrassed in primetime on its home field.

If you're a bettor who thinks the Browns win but don't want to give up nearly a touchdown, you're in the right place. Our Monday Night Football best bet for Week 2 is Cleveland to win by 1-13 points in the 'Winning Margin (4 Way)' market, which requires the Jets to compete and keep the game within two full touchdowns. In exchange for the risk of a blowout win, receive decent enough +135 odds at FanDuel.

Pick: Browns Win By 1-13 Points (+135) - Bet On Browns vs. Jets At FanDuel PA

NFL Betting Tips For Monday Night Football

  • Bet Favorites and Overs Early

As a kickoff for the Monday game nears, public action always heats up regardless of the teams since it's the only game on and it's the final matchup of the week. Much of the betting public aren't experts on the teams playing, and casual gamblers tend to take two things: favorites and overs. If you are a fan of either one in any particular week, hop on it before the value is drained in the hours leading up to the game.

  • Single-Game Parlays Boost Payouts

Many of the top sports betting sites in NJ and PA offer several kinds of parlays within the same game. These include moneyline, spreads, and totals along with modified alternate lines and totals, which can be parlayed to look something like a traditional teaser. To create some more value for yourself, link together a side and the total in a Monday night parlay.

  • Be Careful Chasing Money

Most bettors know what it's like to wake up Monday after a rough Sunday of losing. The temptation is always there to get it all back with a huge MNF bet, but many times you're boxing yourself into a game you aren't sold on. If there's no market you really love, don't force things with a huge bet just to chase losses on Monday. If betting, keep wagers modest and chip away at the deficit.
