Sports Betting Deals Between Casinos, Teams, Leagues And Sportsbooks

In just a few months on the market, the rise of NJ sports betting has reflected the changing attitude of professional leagues regarding sports betting. At first, leagues attempted to halt the growth of legalized sports gambling but lost out to the Supreme Court. Now, we hear names like MGM Resorts, FanDuel Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook and 888sport linked with the professional teams and leagues that decided to get in on the NJ sportsbook experience.

To this point, twelve notable deals have been made between leagues, teams, casinos and sportsbooks. With sports betting legal in New Jersey and on the rise with no signs of slowing down, the players in these deals are grasping onto one another in the hopes that there is continued money to be made on all sides. Here is a look at all the pro sports deals, including the NJ sports sponsorship deals:

MGM Resorts Works With NBA, NHL To Help NJ Sports Betting Explode

New Jersey sports betting and sports wagering, in general, was first embraced by the NBA, and July 2018's sponsorship deal with MGM Resorts International marked a new trend for relationships between sports leagues and titans of the gaming industry.

“As the landscape for sports betting in the U.S. continues to evolve at a rapid pace, MGM Resorts is a proven gaming leader for us to work with on this groundbreaking partnership,” said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver at the time of the deal.

After MGM's reported $25 million deal to be the official gaming partner of the NBA, MGM partnered with the NHL. The casino and gaming giant is now each league's first sports betting partner, featuring access to NBA data and branding at its retail and mobile sportsbook operations, along with MGM-sponsored promotions at major NHL events throughout the year, among other perks.

NJ Sports Betting Apps Are Key To FanDuel And DraftKings

Many NJ sports bettors are finding the easiest location in the Garden State is right in the palm of their hands on their mobile phones using sports betting apps. The FanDuel app and DraftKings app are the power players for the best sports betting apps, pulling in 60 percent of the market share, according to October's revenue report from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

FanDuel’s deal with the NHL to become the league’s official daily fantasy partner features a series of promotional events, including the Winter Classic and All-Star Game. The NJ daily fantasy betting giant also made a deal with the Devils and has its logo visible in the ice at the Prudential Center in Newark. As time goes on and more deals are struck, the FanDuel Sportsbook app and DraftKings Sportsbook app will only get more impressive.
