The NBA is one of those that you can’t seem to take your eyes off of, even when the season has ended. Just two weeks after the Toronto dethroned Golden State to win its first NBA title, NJ online sports betting players are checking into DraftKings Sportsbook in order to make NBA Draft predictions.

The draft tips off on June 20 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn with tons of hype in the weeks leading up. For such a huge event, DraftKings Sportsbook knew it needed to offer a wide range of markets, and the operator surely delivered. Offering a multitude of markets presents options for all NJ online sports betting players, regardless of preference. Below is a list of different categories offered on the DraftKing Sportsbook app ahead of the 2019 NBA Draft:

  • 1st Overall Pick
  • 2nd Overall Pick
  • 3rd Overall Pick
  • 4th Overall Pick
  • 5th Overall Pick
  • Player Draft Position (how high or low in the draft a player will be selected)
  • Draft Specials (prop bets centered around NCAA colleges, Top 10 selections in draft)
  • Draft Matchups (Player vs. Player: who will be selected first?)
  • Drafted Yes/No (Will a given player be drafted)

We’re going to take a deeper look at some of the lines for 2019 NBA Draft prop bets offered by DraftKings Sportsbook and see where NJ sports betting players might be able to find an advantage.

NBA Draft Prop Bets For Top Picks

For the better part of a year, most people have known that No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson was going to eventually be a thing. Fast forward to the 2019 NBA Draft lottery, and the New Orleans Pelicans win the top selection. From there, the odds began to take shape for the  top of the draft, and value quickly evaporated as odds got out of control.

  • 1st Overall Pick

Zion Williamson (-10000) is going to be the top pick  in this draft, so there won’t be any drama right away unless New Orleans unimaginably trades the pick. Ja Morant and RJ Barret (both +2000) are longshots to =make the leap over the most dominant force in college basketball last season.

  • 2nd Overall Pick

After the lottery, odds on DraftKings Sportsbook were split on whether Morant or Barrett would be selected by the Memphis Grizzlies at No. 2 overall. That was the time for NJ sports betting players to strike, as Morant’s odds skyrocketed from -125 following the lottery to -5000 and has remained there as we approach draft night. With the Grizzlies trading longtime guard Mike Conley to Utah, the Morant selection seems even more inevitable.

Additional Morant bet on DraftKings app: Ja Morant Draft Position Over  2.5 (+1400)/Under 2.5 (-5000)

  • 3rd Overall Pick

Just as Morant to Memphis picked up steam throughout the online sports betting landscape, so too did the Knicks taking Barrett in the 2019 NBA Draft, assuming New York keeps the selection. Barrett was +125 to go third overall after the lottery, then jumped to -2000. Now,  Barrett sits at -560 to be selected third following the Knicks’ reported interest in Vanderbilt guard Darius Garland (now +350). Barrett is still likely to wind up in New York, although -560 is still a tough price to pay.

Additional Barrett bet on DraftKings: RJ Barrett Draft Position Over 2.5 (-1000)/Under 2.5 (+900)

  • 4th Overall Pick

Value starts to pick up naturally as the draft becomes a bit more unclear.  This is the starting point of where NJ sports betting players might be able to make some money. Texas Tech’s Jarrett Culver was previously the favorite in this  spot, but Garland has crept up to -121. This is actually great news for those who like Culver at No. 4, since his odds are now +200. New Orleans recent acquired this pick in the Anthony Davis trade to the Lakers, so the dynamic of this selection has completely shifted.

  • 5th Overall Pick

Cleveland’s selection in this spot has much to do with what happens before them, but it’s safe to say there are several NJ sports betting options here. Oddsmakers think De’Andre Hunter from Virginia (+125) is the most likely to head to Cleveland, but Culver (+175) or  Garland (+300) will more than likely be on the board as well. Some longer shots here are Coby White (+450) and Cam Reddish (+800).

NBA Draft Predictions | Suggestions For NJ Sports Betting Players

We’re going to dive deeper into the NJ sports betting odds for several other NBA Draft prop betting markets and even find some value where we can with help from a mock draft from Sports Illustrated:

Draft Position

  • Jarrett Culver: Under 4.5 (+125)

With New Orleans having the No. 4 pick ,we like Culver at pus-money in this spot whether they keep the pick or trade it. He’s arguably the best player on the board, and really only in competition with Garland here. Even if a team like Atlanta, for example, moves up in exchange for the No. 8 and 10 picks, it’d likely be Culver with the Hawks recently drafting Trey Young.

  • Rui Hachimura: Under 11.5 (+150)

Minnesota loving Gonzaga star Rui Hachimura has been a rumor since the NBA Draft combine, so getting plus-money in the Timberwolves’ spot here is worth a shot.

  • Bol Bol: Over 17.5 (-110)

The Oregon big man was originally projected to be a top-10 pick before his injury early  in the season. He’s slipped to 17.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook, but could drop even further with all that uncertainty. We’ll go with Over 17.5 at -110 for our NBA Draft prediction.

Draft Matchups & Specials

  • PJ Washington (-190) Over Tyler Herro (+155)
  • Keldon Johnson (-148) Over Cameron Johnson (+120)
  • Under 2.5 Players From Duke In Top 10 (+500)
  • International Players In Top 10: Over 0.5 (-240)

Making NBA Draft Predictions is always a crapshoot, but DraftKings Sportsbook provides enough markets where NJ sports betting players can feel confident in their picks. NBA Draft betting odds sometimes require laying tons of juice or taking some big longshots, but it’s always exciting betting markets you only see once a year. Have some fun with it at DraftKings Sportsbook.
