NBA Betting Picks Against The Spread (ATS) - Lines Courtesy Of FanDuel Sportsbook
AROUND THE LEAGUE: The NBA had a quiet Thursday evening, but the Milwaukee Bucks strengthened their grip on the East’s No. 1 seed by improving its home record to 26-5. Paul George and Russell Westbrook also combined for 69 points as OKC served up a rare home loss to the Trail Blazers.
There are a couple of interesting storylines across the NBA heading into the weekend. The top spot in the West is up for grabs as the Warriors host the Nuggets in the aftermath Golden State being called out by Steve Kerr to play better at home. MVP-hopeful James Harden and the Rockets seek a seventh straight win against a Sixers team missing Joel Embiid for an eighth consecutive game. Philadelphia expected to compete for the No. 1 seed in the conference, but instead is stuck in fourth place ahead of Boston by 1.5 games.
Sauce’s Courtside Seat: Free NBA Picks ATS For March 8
FanDuel Sportsbook lines as of March 8 at 11:30am*
Detroit Pistons (-3.5) @ Chicago Bulls - 7:30pm
The lowly Bulls are slight underdogs at home against the Pistons, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Detroit is not a good road team by any stretch, but this could be the right matchup for them to cover a small spread away from home. Chicago is on a 3-10 ATS run at home while the Pistons have covered five of six overall. Detroit is barely holding onto the No. 6 seed in the East and surely doesn’t want to drop into an exponentially more difficult first-round matchup. That will require taking care of business against teams like Chicago. Blake Griffin and Detroit gets it done as our first free NBA pick.
Pick: Detroit Pistons -3.5 (-110)
Denver Nuggets @ Golden State Warriors (-6.5) - 10:30pm
The Nuggets and Warriors meet in a clash of Western Conference powers with Golden State as six-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook. Denver has a chance to pull back into a first-place tie with a win, but even if they don’t, they should stay close. The road team in this matchup is 9-4-1 ATS in the last 14, with Denver being 4-0-1 ATS in the last five visits to Golden State. The Warriors have covered just one of their last 11 games in total and needs to re-establish some dominance because their current form is hard to back. Nuggets keeping this one tight is our underdog NBA pick today.
Pick: Denver Nuggets +6 (-110)
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Los Angeles Clippers (-2.5) - 10:30pm
The Clippers welcome in the No. 3-seeded Thunder as 2.5-point favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The Thunder are better than the Clippers, but winning on back-to-back nights in the NBA is tough and Los Angeles is in great form. They’ve covered five straight and won three in a row, gripping that last playoff spot pretty tightly. After playing a tough overtime game and traveling, I think the Thunder drop this one to the Clippers at Staples Center. Los Angeles giving a bucket feels like the right pick.
Pick: Los Angeles Clippers -2 (-110)
Free NBA Pick: Over/Under Play Of The Day
Toronto Raptors @ Houston Rockets (Over/Under 233.5) - 7pm
This total of 233.5 is the third-highest of the day on FanDuel Sportsbook due to several high-octane matchups this evening. Charlotte and Washington are both awful defensive teams and the over is 6-1 in the last seven between these two. Eight of the Wizards’ last nine road games have gone over, as have six of the Hornets’ last eight overall. It would be surprising to see either one of these teams stop the other in what is actually a critical game for Charlotte’s playoff hopes. Sports betting on overs is always more fun, and in this game that’s the right choice.
Pick: Wizards/Hornets Over 233.5
Best of luck!
