NCAA Tournament Picks Sunday, March 31 With PointsBet Sportsbook - Elite Eight

There are just two games left to finally limit the 68-team 2019 NCAA Tournament field to the Final Four. Texas Tech and Virginia have already punched their tickets, and now two more games take place on Sunday to lock in next weekend’s games in Minneapolis. Duke takes on Michigan State in the East Region, while Kentucky battles Auburn for the title in the Midwest Region.

NJ online sports betting players have experienced a wide range of emotions throughout the Sweet 16 and the Elite Eight, some better than others. Those with No. 1 seeds like North Carolina and Gonzaga advancing to the Final Four are experiencing first hand why this month is called March Madness. After a lack of upsets in the second round, the past few days have more than made up for it with excitement and drama. Despite there being just a few games left in the college basketball season, there is still plenty more drama to unfold before a champion can cut down the nets.

Another March weekend arrives and another round in the 2019 NCAA Tournament is completed as the Sweet 16 is trimmed down to the Elite Eight. Teams now battle in regional finals for a trip to the Final Four in Minneapolis, finally bringing March Madness to its peak. Let’s take a look to see who we have making the Final Four.

NCAA Picks: Top College Basketball Plays of the Day

No. 5 Auburn Tigers vs. No. 2 Kentucky Wildcats (-4.5) - 2:25pm

In the Midwest Region final, Kentucky is 4.5-point favorites over Auburn on PointsBet Sportsbook. Kentucky outlasted Houston in a close defensive battle while Auburn used incredible second-half shooting to blow the doors off top-seeded North Carolina in the Elite Eight.

Auburn is looking to reach its first ever Final Four, but will have to go through conference rival Kentucky, a blue blood program with as NCAA Tournament history as any team. The contrast of style between Kentucky’s defense and Auburn’s offense will create an interesting dynamic of pace that could help decide the game. Emerging Auburn star Chuma Okeke tragically tore his ACL in the Tigers’ Elite Eight win, striking a blow to their Final Four hopes against a strong Kentucky defense. With their full team, the Tigers’ offensive firepower is seemingly unstoppable. NJ online sports betting players are looking to figure out whether the loss of Okeke means they won’t be able to spread the floor as efficiently against the Wildcats.

Auburn deserves an incredible amount of respect, as they crushed UNC when not too many thought they would. Without having all of their parts, though, it’s hard to imagine them being able to overcome the Wildcats. The line may have inflated too much, but Kentucky is still the Elite Eight sports betting pick for the Midwest Region.

Pick: Kentucky Wildcats -4.5 (-105)

No. 2 Michigan State vs. No. 1 Duke Blue Devils (-2) - 8:54pm

Top overall seed Duke enters the East Region final as two-point favorites over Michigan State, according to the PointsBet Sportsbook app. Duke survived a second close-call in a row with a two-point win over Virginia Tech, while Michigan State handled LSU with relative ease in a 17-point Elite Eight win.

NJ online sports betting players will note that Duke escaped hot water twice against teams it was better than in UCF and Virginia Tech, covering in neither game. In that type of situation with Michigan State, and Duke may not survive. The Spartans, like Duke, are getting major contributions from freshmen as they roll through opponents in the 2019 NCAA Tournament. Unlike Duke, however, Michigan State also has several upperclassmen with plenty of big game experience and they’ve struck that balance perfectly. Despite having Duke in the Final Four the entire way, Michigan State is playing like a team that can turn close calls into reality for the Blue Devils.

Duke is the most talented team and the luckiest to this point, we’re not sure that lasts forever. For our East Region Elite Eight prediction, we are going with Michigan State and the free basket.

Pick: Michigan State +2 (-105)

March Madness Sports Betting Picks: PointsBetting Play of the Day

PointsBetting is the innovative feature of PointsBet Sportsbook that helps it stand out from other NJ sportsbooks. PointsBetting is a high-stakes form of sports betting that rewards or punishes players based on how right or wrong a given pick is. You can learn more about PointsBetting here on BonusSeeker.

No. 2 Michigan State vs. No. 1 Duke Blue Devils (-2) - 8:54pm

The over/under for the Elite Eight matchup between Duke and Michigan State is set at 151 on PointsBet Sportsbook. With PointsBetting’s modified lines, the over is 152 and the under is 149. Michigan State stayed under the total in its previous game with LSU, while Duke and Virginia Tech went over in the game’s closing minutes.

NJ online sports betting players need to keep in mind that the bigger the games get, the slower games tend to get. Despite there being the chance for offense to take over and stellar three-point shooting to sink an under, it’s more likely the pace slows to a crawl with more importance being placed on each possession.

The Spartans want to methodically control the game while Duke will likely attempt to get out and run. Both teams and Hall-of-Fame coaches, however, are good enough not to let the other team completely dictate pace for too long. In the end, our Elite Eight total prediction using PointsBetting is under in Duke-Michigan State.

PointsBetting Pick: Duke/Michigan State Under 149
