Now that the first two rounds are complete, the 2019 NCAA Tournament field has been cut down to the Sweet 16. All four seeds on each the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 lines remain as many March Madness pool players have their brackets mainly intact after a severe lack of upsets in the second round. What that means, however, is that the matchups to come will be littered with high-profile programs and the later rounds of the tournament should be intense.
As the NCAA Tournament continues with the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight, be sure to review the official BonusSeeker NCAA Tournament bracket and our 2019 NCAA Tournament previews broken down by region:
- East Region (Washington D.C.)
- West Region (Anaheim)
- Midwest Region (Kansas City)
- South Region (Louisville)
Although there haven’t been any earth-shattering upsets, it still hasn’t been a walk in the park for NJ online sports betting players. Plenty of top seeds that advanced have done so without covering the spread, and making March Madness predictions only becomes more difficult from this point forward. The good news is, BonusSeeker has your back with March Madness predictions throughout the NCAA Tournament.

NCAA Picks: Top College Basketball Plays of the Day
No. 3 Purdue Boilermakers vs. No. 2 Tennessee Volunteers (-1.5) - 7:29pm
According to the PointsBet Sportsbook app, Tennessee is a slight favorite over Purdue in the South Region. Purdue won convincingly over Villanova while the Volunteers took overtime to dispatch of Iowa after blowing a 25-point lead. The thought process here is that two close calls for Tennessee will help this team play up to its full potential for 48 minutes. After all, they are prominently featured on our official BonusSeeker 2019 March Madness Bracket. The Boilermakers may be cruising to this point, but they haven’t played an offense as versatile as Tennessee, even in Big Ten play. Tennseesse’s ability to hang with Purdue offensively gives them the edge to reach the Elite Eight as our Sweet 16 prediction.
Pick: Tennessee Volunteers -1.5 (-105)
No. 3 Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. No. 2 Michigan Wolverines (-2) - 9:39pm
No. 2 Michigan is a slight favorite over No. 3 Texas Tech in the West Region, according to the PointsBet Sportsbook app. Two of the country’s best defenses battle for a spot in the Elite Eight, and we’re taking Texas Tech as an underdog. This is very likely to be low scoring and every basket should count in a big way. For that reason, we’re making our sports betting prediction based on the team whose offense we trust more. The Red Raiders are a slightly more efficient offense and feature future NBA first-round pick Jarrett Culver. In high-pressure NCAA Tournament where points are scarce, having a go-to scorer down the stretch can make the difference. We’re taking our free basket with Texas Tech for our Sweet 16 pick.
Pick: Texas Tech +2 (-105)
No. 12 Oregon Ducks vs. No. 1 Virginia Cavaliers (-3.5) - 9:57pm
South Region No. 1 seed Virginia is 8.5-point favorites over the 2019 NCAA Tournament’s lowest remaining seed in No. 12 Oregon. The Ducks have been impressive, but one has to believe the road ends here for a team looking still looking to make up for what happened last year. Virginia may have some trouble at the end of the weekend with Purdue or Tennessee, but its size, defense and three-point shooting should pose far more of a threat than UC Irvine did in the second round. Virginia may need to get hot from deep in order to cover this one, but we say Cavaliers by double digits in the end for our NCAA prediction.
Pick: Virginia Cavaliers -8.5 (-105)

No. 4 Florida State Seminoles (+6) vs. No. 1 Gonzaga Bulldogs (-8) - 7:09pm
When it comes to the PointsBetting feature, West Region No. 1 Gonzaga enters the Sweet 16 -8 while the Seminoles’ modified line becomes +6. Florida State beat Gonzaga in this exact spot last season, and we believe it can happen again. Even if the Bulldogs successfully avenge the 2018 NCAA Tournament loss, the Seminoles are a deep team with the athletes to keep Gonzaga pretty close. Judging by past results, the spread and the matchup of the two teams, our March Madness PointsBetting prediction for the Sweet 16 is on Florida State.
The Zags are 7.5-point fixed odds favorites on PointsBet Sportsbook, and if looking to make a fixed odds bet, we think the Seminoles and the extra 1.5 points is the way to go.
PointsBetting Pick: Florida State Seminoles (+6)
