NCAAB Sports Betting Picks: Top College Basketball Plays of the Day

No. 6 Maryland Terrapins vs. No. 3 LSU Tigers (-2.5) – 12:10pm

The LSU Tigers enter the second round as 2.5-point favorites over Maryland on BetStars Sportsbook. The Terps rallied late to defeat Belmont while LSU led for most of the game, but held on to beat Yale in the first round. We see the Tigers advancing to the Sweet 16, despite missing its head coach. Maryland’s strength is in its frontcourt, but LSU has the personnel to match and scores as easily as almost anyone in the nation. LSU and the small spread has to be our first March Madness prediction of the second round.

Pick: LSU Tigers -2.5 (-110)

No. 8 Baylor vs. No. 1 Gonzaga (-13) – 7:10pm

After winning by 38 points in its first game of the NCAA Tournament, No. 1 seed Gonzaga is 13-point favorites on BetStars NJ in the second round. Baylor did well to defeat shorthanded Syracuse, but the road ends here. The Bulldogs aren’t about to suffer an early exit after what happened to them at the WCC Tournament. If anything, it helped humble a team that is clearly still one of the best in the entire country. Gonzaga keeps it rolling in a big way and past Baylor as the Bulldogs win by 15+ for this NCAA Tournament second round pick.

Pick: Gonzaga (-13)

No. 6 Villanova Wildcats vs. No. 3 Purdue Boilermakers (-4) – 9pm

Defending-champion Villanova is four-point underdogs in the second round against Big Ten co-champion Purdue, according to the BetStars app. Purdue did what it needed to do in the first round, but didn’t convince us they will easily get by the Wildcats, if at all. Villanova makes things difficult on its opponents and although Purdue boasts a terrific offense, the first round game is proof that it can be slowed down. Give us the Big East champions as our March Madness prediction from the South Region.

Pick: Villanova Wildcats +4 (-110)

No. 5 Auburn Tigers (-2) vs. No. 4 Kansas Jayhawks – 9:45pm

After barely surviving its first game vs a No. 12 seed, Auburn is favored by a basket over No. 4 seed Kansas in the second round. Despite Kansas winning in blowout fashion to begin its tournament, we are going with the Tigers. Auburn needs to close games better, but let’s not forget Auburn has beaten Tennessee twice within the last month, including in the SEC championship game. Kansas has struggled for the most part away from home, especially against upper-echelon competition. Auburn and the small number for the Midwest Region NCAA prediction.

Pick: Auburn Tigers -2 (-110)
