NFL Playoff Picture: Best NFL Betting Picks To Reach Super Bowl

There is still plenty to sort out, but the NFL playoff picture is definitely starting to clear up in both the AFC and NFC. After 12 games played for everyone, we have a much better idea than we did a few weeks ago of which clubs are the real contenders.

After going through AFC Championship and NFC Championship lines and 2020 Super Bowl odds, we’re going to tell you which teams we’d put our money on if making NFL playoff predictions at this point.

AFC Playoff Picture

The bottom of the AFC playoff picture has yet to clear up, but the standings make it clear that two teams are well above the rest and the odds support that notion. Seeding still needs to be determined, but how are things going to shake out in the AFC?

Here are two predictions to reach the Super Bowl based on a combination of what’s transpired this season and the value of the odds at NJ betting sites like SugarHouse:

  • Baltimore Ravens (+120 to win AFC)

The odds are no longer juicy (we liked them at +375 last month), but the Ravens are still your best bet for the AFC championship at this point. Since destroying the Patriots in Week 9, the Ravens have proven to be the best team in the conference as they continue to dispose of playoff teams without issue.

If things don’t melt down, Baltimore could be set up to host playoff games throughout the postseason. The Ravens may very well go 7-1 at home this season, so that’s no small deal. Even if they’re forced onto the road against New England, the Ravens have already shown they can win in Foxborough.

Baltimore controls the ball better than any team in the league and it has the No. 1 rushing attack in football, partially thanks to Lamar Jackson. The MVP hopeful has proven to be a devastating weapon as one of the most dynamic athletes in the game and a much-improved quarterback throwing the ball. Any bet on the Ravens at plus-money is still worthwhile.

  • Kansas City Chiefs (+550 to win AFC)

Why do we say Kansas City and not New England? Simply, it’s about the betting value here. It’s strange to treat a team that played in last year’s AFC title game as a dark horse, but that’s exactly what the Chiefs are if you’re going by the odds.

Baltimore (+120) and New England (+160) have much lower odds than Kansas City (+550) but as long as Patrick Mahomes is healthy, the Chiefs are worth a look here. There are holes on defense, but the offense is still dynamic and absolutely capable of scoring 40 points on any team in the league.

At +550, even just reaching this game presents an incredible hedging opportunity to guarantee a profit of some kind. This will likely require a road win in Baltimore or New England, but stranger things have happened and the value is there.

NFC Playoff Picture

In the NFC, things are much more crowded at the top of the standings than they are in the AFC. With one division still fully up for grabs and seeding to be determined, the NFC is a bit of a guessing game right now because it feels like there are many teams with a legitimate shot.

NFC OddsWager On The NFC Champion At SugarHouse PA

Going by the current standings, remaining schedules, and betting value, here are our two NFL betting picks to win the NFC title using odds from SugarHouse, which also has online sports betting in PA:

  • New Orleans Saints (+185 to win NFC)

Though this team is the favorite and odds have gradually lowered as the season has progressed, New Orleans a team worth considering for 2020 Super Bowl predictions. At 10-2 and in first place in the NFC, the road to the Super Bowl may be through the Superdome, and that won’t be an easy time for visitors.

This team has overcome losing their Hall of Fame quarterback and a Pro Bowl running back for extended periods of time. Key defensive pieces have been forced to sit out as well, but New Orleans barely misses a beat. The Saints’ revenge tour is alive and well, and it may just end at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

  • Seattle Seahawks (+400 to win NFC)

Here at BonusSeeker, we picked the Seahawks to poach the NFC West title at +240 in October and again we suggested Seattle at +250 in November. Now, they’re in the lead at -118 with four games to go until they’d get to host playoff games in January.

The environment in Seattle may not be what it used to, but playoff games in the Pacific Northwest still aren’t easy to win and could set the Seahawks up for a deep run the playoffs.

With a strong running game and an MVP candidate at quarterback, Seattle can move the ball and control the clock like few others and remains as dangerous as almost any other team in the NFC. A +400 bet on the Seahawks to win the NFC isn’t only great value, it also presents a terrific hedging situation in the event Seattle even makes it to that point.

Super Bowl Odds 2020: Who Is Favored To Lift Lombardi Trophy?

So we’ve broken down which teams have a chance to play in Miami on February 2, but which teams are favored by oddsmakers to win the Lombardi Trophy as the next Super Bowl champion?

Here are odds for five favorites you might consider when making Super Bowl 54 predictions and a description about the lines for each team. It should come as no surprise that all are among the favorites to win their respective conferences as well through 13 weeks of the NFL schedule.Baltimore Ravens (+250)

Baltimore has road wins at Seattle and New England, and just recently has beaten the likes of Houston and San Francisco at home. It doesn’t matter where Lamar Jackson and the Ravens play, they can beat you, and that makes them a worthwhile Super Bowl pick as the favorites at +250.

Some of the value is gone, sure, but don’t let that stop you while the line is still good enough to roll with. Especially if you’re not a believer in the Patriots.

  • New England Patriots (+450)

The Patriots are no longer dominating like they were during the first two months of the season, so there are plenty of people once again wondering whether this is the year this team takes a step back. The offense clearly isn’t what it used to be, but New England is always a threat because of Brady and Belichick. Do you really need more reasoning than that to take a shot here?

The Patriots’ freight train coming to a halt has actually increased betting value when it comes to the odds, which are now at +400 after lowering to +240 in the early part of November.

  • New Orleans Saints (+500)

For all the reasons why the Saints are a great pick to win the NFC, they’re a decent pick to for Super Bowl 54 predictions as well. The Saints are one of very few teams that rank in the top 10 in both offensive and defensive DVOA and have very few weaknesses on either side of the ball.

Home field matters for every team, but perhaps means the most for the Saints. The Superdome is an advantage like few others in sports, and New Orleans is historically a more dangerous team inside of it and may very well end up with the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Drew Brees is back and so is Alvin Kamara, so could the Saints find that one extra gear in time for this team to finish the job they started last season? At +500, we’re excited to find out.

  • San Francisco 49ers (+750)

For a while, it looked like San Francisco might be the team to beat in the NFC. Now, it may not even win its own division. The good news is, this may be a good time to buy low on the Niners. Like the Patriots, the odds that were falling fast have now leveled out a bit at +750 to win the Super Bowl, which could still get you a huge payout.

Even with one of the most fearsome defenses in football with a balanced offense, this team hasn’t been tested all that much. A road win over the Saints in Week 14 would do a lot to convince us and oddsmakers that this team is a serious contender worth Super Bowl predictions.

  • Seattle Seahawks (+800)

It can be easy to forget that Seattle was 5-2 and looked headed for a Wild Card. Fast forward a few games, including a Week 10 win handing the Niners their first loss, and Seattle is tied for first in both the division and the conference.

As another team with a significant home-field advantage, Seattle’s seeding may provide clues into how far it can go. Keep in mind, however, that the Seahawks have actually won their first five road games in 2019. With a line at +800, you won’t find many realistic options with more value than Seattle.
