At this point in the season, the Detroit Lions have nothing to play for and the opposite can be said for Tampa Bay. The Bucs have an outside shot at the NFC South but most importantly, a win or tie seals a playoff berth. Outside of a recent comeback against Chicago, Detroit has been in shambles. Credit to Matt Stafford for his limitless toughness and desire to compete, but the Lions are outclassed in this matchup.

Speaking of Chicago, the Bears still have a glimmer of hope when it comes to the playoffs. First things first, they need to take care of the Jaguars. With Mitch Trubisky under center, the offense has proven much more dynamic and this team has scored 30+ points in three straight games. The Jaguars are playing out the string and appear in worse shape with Gardner Minshew II back under center.

For the first time this season, we have added an alternate total to this parlay. On Christmas Day, the Saints and Vikings square off with a total around 52 points but we’ve lowered that to 44.5 with some confidence. We saw New Orleans’ offense score a bit with Drew Brees back in the fold and Minnesota’s offense has played pretty well overall, it just struggles to make up for a depleted defense.

• Browns-Jets Over 46.5 (-110)

The total is set at 46.5 points for the Browns’ second straight game at MetLife Stadium, and we can’t help but feel like this is just a bit too low based on what these two offenses have shown over the past month or so.

The Jets’ stunning (and costly) win over the Rams last week marked the third time in five games that New York scored at least 23 points. On the other side, Cleveland’s offense has been clicking for the past month and even though it only scored 20 points last week, it was a slow-paced game. The Jets can stop the run but will struggle to defend the pass and this one should get close to 50 points in total.

• Eagles-Cowboys Over 48.5 (-110)

With Jalen Hurts under center, the Eagles’ offense has seemingly come alive. And the same can be said for the Dallas offense over the past two weeks. Neither defense is showing much resistance and we’re already seeing the total begin to climb at some sites.

This game has huge implications for the postseason and knowing the NFC East this season, something strange is bound to happen. For our money, it will involve some points being put on the board by both sides.

• Green Bay Packers ML (-190)

The Titans are a team that can and will put up some points. Tennessee has scored 30+ points in five straight and with Derrick Henry against Green Bay’s run defense, that could happen again. But in the end, the Titans’ defense can’t make stops and that’s going to be a problem against Aaron Rodgers’ offense.

The forecast calls for freezing temperatures and possible snow on Sunday night. Classic Packers weather. We can still expect a shootout of sorts but in the end, Green Bay wins the game and takes another step toward securing home field in the postseason.
