Dallas (1-0) is hosting Washington (0-1) in Arlington for a 1pm kickoff in Week 2, so we are turning our focus toward the NFC East division as we make Cowboys vs. Redskins predictions for Sunday afternoon!
We've got two historical franchises getting together, so this game will be the focus of many fans and bettors alike.
Matchups involving the Cowboys always seem to garner gambling attention since they are a big-name organization with decades of tradition and fans all over the country, but even more so when it's an opponent with a large fanbase and history of its own like Washington.
Redskins vs. Cowboys Betting Preview - Week 2 NFL Lines
The Cowboys opened up as favorites by nearly a touchdown before the number settled in at around -4.5 points during the week on the FanDuel NJ app. Sharp and public action has forced Dallas up too -5.5 (-110) in the time since while the current total sits at 46.5 (-110).
Redskins Betting Prediction Week 2
Washington's first two games on 2019 NFL schedule are against the two best teams in the division, which is a tough start. In Week 1, a 17-0 was erased in an eventual 32-27 loss to the Eagles.
Despite the loss, Case Keenum spread the ball around to eight receivers and put up 27 points on the road. The downside is that the defense gave up 25 points in the second half and got torched for two scores over 50 yards.
Washington will be ready to play from the start again in its home opener after, but can a hot Cowboys offense find a way to exploit the Redksins' defense in the second half as Philadelphia did?
Cowboys Betting Prediction Week 2
Dallas is looking for a repeat performance after Dak Prescott threw for 405 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-17 win over the Giants to begin the season. Divisional games on the road are never easy, plus Washington's defense is better than New York's so the challenge stiffens in Week 2.
Even so, Dallas' offensive line is well equipped to provide cover for Prescott and RB Ezekiel Elliot. The Cowboys led the NFL with seven plays of 20+ yards in Week 1 and moved the ball with ease as Prescott enjoyed a perfect QB rating of 158.3. The Redskins could their hands full on both sides of the ball facing a defense that forced two turnovers as well.
Redskins vs. Cowboys Betting Lines
With the emergence of Prescott in the passing game and the protection he's offered, the Cowboys are a complete and dangerous offense. Dallas' propensity to move the ball and get first downs via the ground game will wear on a defense, even a decent one like Washington has.
Matchups inside the NFC East aren't normally blowouts, making the Cowboys' dismantling of the Giants at least a little surprising. That happening two weeks in a row seems unlikely, and our expectation is a close Cowboys victory.
If taking the spread we'd recommend -5.5 (-110) before it gets to six or above, but it's not our best bet on this game. We are trading in the spread in exchange for a close game and making Cowboys Win By 1-13 and taking the value at +135 in the 'Four-Way Winning Margin' market.
Pick: Cowboys Win By 1-13 pts (+135) - Place Your Bet At FanDuel NJ Sportsbook
Redskins vs. Cowboys Totals Betting Prediction
The total for this game, currently at 46.5 (-110), was lower earlier in the week at many sports betting sites in NJ. After both teams scored at least 27 points in the first game of the season, we certainly know both offenses have the firepower to score in bunches.
With that said, this total is elevating to the point where value is beginning to shift. The Cowboys won't be able to open up the passing game quite as they did against the Giants, while the Redskins' attempts to go vertical won't catch Dallas off guard as they did versus Philadelphia.
This game is also being played on real grass (not many stadiums still have it) and running games will be involved more as both offenses look to control the clock in a fairly close game.
Pick: Under 46.5 Points (-110) - Bet On The Total At FanDuel NJ
NFL Picks And Parlays Week 2: Redskins vs. Cowboys
A feature that makes FanDuel one of the best PA sportsbooks is the range of parlay markets offered for each football game. Moneylines, spreads and totals can be taken straight up or modified with alternate lines, offering players dozens of parlay choices within the same game.
Using our Week 2 picks for Dallas and Washington, our parlay combines the Cowboys and the under. Thinking this game will be close, we are eliminating the spread and taking Dallas to win while the game stays under the current total of 46.5. Our +170 payout won't blow your doors off, but it's decent enough to roll with.
