Washington’s first two games on 2019 NFL schedule are against the two best teams in the division, which is a tough start. In Week 1, a 17-0 was erased in an eventual 32-27 loss to the Eagles.

Dallas is looking for a repeat performance after Dak Prescott threw for 405 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-17 win over the Giants to begin the season. Divisional games on the road are never easy, plus Washington’s defense is better than New York’s so the challenge stiffens in Week 2.

Even so, Dallas’ offensive line is well equipped to provide cover for Prescott and RB Ezekiel Elliot. The Cowboys led the NFL with seven plays of 20+ yards in Week 1 and moved the ball with ease as Prescott enjoyed a perfect QB rating of 158.3. The Redskins could their hands full on both sides of the ball facing a defense that forced two turnovers as well.

With the emergence of Prescott in the passing game and the protection he’s offered, the Cowboys are a complete and dangerous offense. Dallas’ propensity to move the ball and get first downs via the ground game will wear on a defense, even a decent one like Washington has.

Matchups inside the NFC East aren’t normally blowouts, making the Cowboys’ dismantling of the Giants at least a little surprising. That happening two weeks in a row seems unlikely, and our expectation is a close Cowboys victory.

The total for this game, currently at 46.5 (-110), was lower earlier in the week at many sports betting sites in NJ. After both teams scored at least 27 points in the first game of the season, we certainly know both offenses have the firepower to score in bunches.
