The Saints (9-2) may be comfortably in first place but were beaten handily by the lowly Falcons (3-8) by a score of 26-9 just two weeks ago. The scene now shifts to Atlanta on Thanksgiving, where NJ betting sites have the line set much smaller.

The spread actually opened at under a touchdown and was quickly pushed to the Saints to the -6.5 (-110) spread we see now. With New Orleans looking to cement playoff position and the Falcons mired in a losing season, is this a spot to predict some revenge for the Saints?

Thanksgiving NFL Preview | Saints vs. Falcons

What happened a few weeks ago was nothing short of stunning. Atlanta dominated defensively, earning its first road win of the season while handing New Orleans its first defeat at home.

In fact, things were exactly reverse of how one would expect them to go and defied every logical thought one could have. But as it turns out, the first-place Saints are one of just a few teams that rank top 10 in total offense and defense, according to DVOA stats from Football Outsiders. They rank No.8 in overall offense and No. 5 in overall defense, although they failed to score a touchdown while allowing three of them in the last matchup.

Wide receivers don’t get MVP votes, but that could change this year for Michael Thomas, who went for 13 grabs and 152 yards in the last meeting with Atlanta. Thomas is having one of the most productive wide receiver seasons in NFL history and has remained remarkably consistent regardless of which QB has played.

As for the Falcons’ offense, it beat the Saints in Week 10 by controlling the ball and tallying 143 rushing yards, a blueprint it probably hopes to repeat. Star wideout Julio Jones is also currently on the injury report this week, as is tight end Austin Hooper, which could stress the running game even more.

The other key to victory three weeks ago was the defense’s sudden turnaround. After holding New Orleans to 3-for-12 on third down and just nine points, the Falcons limited the Panthers to just three points in another road win. So even at 3-8, is there value on Atlanta at home in Week 13?

Thanksgiving NFL Predictions | Saints vs. Falcons Pick

Somehow, Atlanta has been worse at home than it has been on the road. Following those two huge wins on the road, they came home to allow 35 points to the Bucs in a loss. Can we really see a team so inconsistent shut down one of the league’s best for a second time this season? Nope.

The Saints are comfortable in the standings and coasting to an NFC South title, but the loss a few weeks ago is something they’d like to avenge. It may be a primetime game in the Falcons’ home stadium but we still expect to see the Saints marching into the endzone, which is what we all expected to see a few weeks ago.

Thomas poses such a matchup nightmare for an Atlanta team that also needs to worry about running backs Latavius Murray and Alvin Kamara, the latter of which is a weapon catching the ball. If Atlanta’s defense isn’t razor-sharp, they’ll be playing catch-up with a team you do not want to get into a shootout with.

Fade the Falcons and take the Saints in Week 13 for the last of our Thanksgiving NFL picks this year!

Thanksgiving NFL Props | Saints vs. Falcons Predictions

Saints Falcons propsBet On Saints-Falcons At SugarHouse PA

Fox Bet is a multi-state operator that is finding success among NJ and PA betting apps despite less time in the market. Part of the reason why is the range of markets offered for standard wagering as well as NFL prop betting. There are plenty of options for every game, including those on the holiday.

For an additional Saints-Falcons pick, we are looking at a market on the SugarHouse PA app that allows players to combine the winner of the game and the total into a parlay. We’ve already made it clear w expect a New Orleans win, but what about the total of 49.5 points?

After the last meeting between these two barely got to 35, we are going with the under once again. Atlanta’s game plan is likely to involve trying to move the ball while using the clock and keep the Saints’ offense off the field. New Orleans should absolutely find the endzone at least a couple of times in this game, but Atlanta’s improved defense could limit some of the damage and we think this primetime NFC South clash doesn’t quite reach 50 points on Thanksgiving.

In order to make things a little bit simpler, we are eliminating the spread and taking the Saints to win the game regardless of the margin, and for the two teams to go under 49.5 points as New Orleans and Atlanta close out the Thanksgiving football schedule for another year.
