Betting On The NBA For Monday, Feb. 4
AROUND THE LEAGUE: Over this past weekend, the Warriors lost their lengthy win streak and are now tied for the top spot in the West. Philadelphia defeated Golden State to put an end to the 11-game streak while the Nuggets have won six in a row to reclaim a share of the No. 1 seed in the conference. With the two tied in percentage points (.712 win %), the top seed in the West could be a race worth monitoring. The Knicks have lost 13 games in a row and have traded the No. 4 overall pick from 2015, sending Kristaps Porzingis to Dallas in a blockbuster deal. It doesn’t change the NBA’s landscape for this season, but will definitely have an impact on this summer’s free-agency window. In connection to free agency, Kyrie Irving opened the door for his departure from Boston with comments to the media. Despite the potential distraction, the Celtics have stayed hot and have now won four games in a row.

NBA Betting Picks: Top Plays of the Day
Denver Nuggets (-3) @ Detroit Pistons - 7pm
Detroit welcomes in the West-leading Nuggets as 3-point underdogs, according to the SugarHouse Sportsbook app. Denver has struggled ATS on the road, but has won six games in a row and covered each of the last five against Eastern Conference opponents. Detroit has covered just two of its last 12 against teams with a winning record and should struggle mightily against a team with so much more firepower. Detroit being at home and Denver traveling a long way could keep them in this for a while, but the Nuggets prevail to win their seventh in a row and take over sole possession of the West’s No. 1 seed for the time being.
Pick: Denver Nuggets -3
Milwaukee Bucks (-7) @ Brooklyn Nets - 7:30 pm
Milwaukee visits the Nets as 7-point favorites, according to SugarHouse Sportsbook. Brooklyn has been a formidable team at home and one of the hottest clubs in the league for a couple of months now. Still, the injury bug is starting to catch up with Brooklyn with Spencer Dinwiddie now out as well, and this is a bad time for Giannis and the Bucks to come visiting. Despite the Nets covering six of the last eight at home, Milwaukee is the East’s top team (38-13) and they’ve won nine of 10 games. The Bucks have also covered five of their last seven road contests and 13 of the last 16 meetings in Brooklyn overall.
Pick: Milwaukee Bucks -7
Houston Rockets (-8) @ Phoenix Suns - 9 pm
SugarHouse Sportsbook has Houston visiting Phoenix as an 8-point favorite on Monday evening. The Rockets are a bad road team (11-14 this season) and have covered just one of the last six away from home, but the Suns are a bad team, period. Phoenix has lost 10 games in a row and covered one of the last six games in total. Something has to give in this matchup, and it’s likely to be the Suns. Houston is in the thick of the playoff race and will ultimately take care of the teams it should beat, even if they seem incapable of making any type of real playoff run. In this series, the road team has covered the last four and the Rockets are 5-1 ATS in the last six in Phoenix. Houston pulls away in the second half to win by double digits over the last-place Suns.
Pick: Houston Rockets -8
NBA Betting Pick: Underdog Play of the Day
Indiana Pacers @ New Orleans Pelicans (+116 moneyline)
SugarHouse Sportsbook has New Orleans as slight underdogs at home against Indiana on Monday. Anthony Davis injured and seemingly on his way out of New Orleans, things look bleak. The Pelicans are a brutal defensive team stuck in the cellar of the conference while playing out the string on 2018-19 and hoping for the best draft pick possible. Despite all of that, this could be a great spot for them to pick up a win. The Pelicans are a respectable 15-9 on their home floor and welcome in a Pacers team trying to find itself without its star. Indiana recently lost Victor Oladipo and his absence is obvious, with the team covering just one of its last six. On the flip side, New Orleans has managed to cover four if its last five. Give me the Pelicans as home dogs at +116.
Pick: Pelicans +116 ML
Best of luck!
