Betting On The NBA For Wednesday Jan. 30
AROUND THE LEAGUE: The Eastern Conference’s top team resides in Milwaukee, and the Bucks are now 9-1 in the Central Division thanks to a 10-point win over the Pistons on the road. Rockets guard and MVP candidate James Harden extended his 30-point scoring streak to 24 games, but Houston fell in a disappointing home loss to New Orleans sans Anthony Davis. Oklahoma City extended it’s win streak to six behind Paul George and Russell Westbrook, keeping them locked in the third spot in the playoff race. The worst team in the Western Conference, the Phoenix Suns, made it nine straight losses when San Antonio’s Rudy Gay knocked down a buzzer beater to give the Spurs a two-point win.

NBA Betting Picks: Top Plays of the Day
Chicago Bulls @ Miami Heat (-9.5) - 7:30pm
Miami comes into Wednesday night’s home tilt with Chicago as nearly double-digit favorites, according to SugarHouse Sportsbook’s lines. The Bulls fought hard on Tuesday evening, coming up just short in Brooklyn. Then, they traveled to Miami and must take on the Heat in the second of a back-to-back. Chicago is 6-19 on the road and has covered one out of the last five when playing on no rest. Miami has been off for a couple of days and has covered eight of the last 10 in these situations, giving them another leg up on a team who must play two days in a row. Heat by double digits at home over one of the league’s worst clubs.
Pick: Miami Heat -9.5
Atlanta Hawks @ Sacramento Kings (-5) - 10pm
The Kings are five-point favorites at home on Wednesday night, according to SugarHouse Sportsbook. The Hawks are coming off a strong road win over the Clippers, but Sacramento put up 146 points on Atlanta the last time these two teams played. While the Hawks are certainly a better team several months later, they still lack the consistency to string together multiple good games. The Kings are a .500 team, but have a respectable 14-10 home record. Out of those 24 home games, they’ve covered 16 of them, including the last give. Trends show Sacramento plays well at home and as a favorite, so they get the advantage tonight against a road-weary Hawks team.
Pick: Sacramento Kings -5
Utah Jazz @ Portland Trail Blazers (-1) - 10:30pm
The Blazers come into Wednesday night’s home matchup with Utah as one-point favorites, according to the SugarHouse Sportsbook app. The Jazz are one of the league’s hottest teams having won three straight and going 9-1 in their last 10 to climb into playoff position. The Blazers are a dominant home team at 21-7 this season and have had three days off to rest and prepare. They didn’t have star guard Damian Lillard in a win over the Hawks, but will get him back in time to face the Jazz. Portland has covered in eight of its last 10 and I expect another victory at Moda Center over Utah, who is just an average road team this season.
Pick: Portland Trail Blazers -1
NBA Betting Pick: Over/Under Play of the Day
Denver Nuggets @ New Orleans Pelicans (Over/Under 227) - 8pm
According to the SugarHouse Online Sportsbook NBA lines, the over/under for New Orleans and Denver is 227 points. With both teams being so powerful on offense and New Orleans lacking on defense and coming off a game last night, I expect this to sail over the total. The over has cashed in seven of Denver’s last eight overall and in five of New Orleans’ last seven overall. Four of the last five between these teams has also gone over, and without a number in the 230+ range, I think this total is too low in today’s NBA. A well-rested Denver team may be able to score 120 points on its own.
Pick: Nuggets/Pelicans over 227
Best of luck!
