Super Bowl LIV is taking place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on February 2, 2020 and as always, it is slated to be one of the biggest sports betting days of the year. Casual and hardcore football fans come together to enjoy the spectacle and a multitude of sports gambling markets.

One of the only things better than putting some money on the game is having a wager in place from earlier in the year, which is where NFL futures bets come into play. Many sports betting sites including DraftKings Sportsbook offer a wide range of futures markets including Division Winner, Conference Winner, and Super Bowl Winner.

Here, we will be taking an updated look at how the Conference Winner market has matured in the past month or so and we’ll make some more Super Bowl predictions for which teams could wind up in Miami.

Updated 2020 Super Bowl Odds To Win AFC, NFC

The last time we checked in with early 2020 Super Bowl predictions, each team had played just two games of their 2019-20 NFL schedule. Five weeks later, every club has played either six or seven games and Super Bowl odds have gradually changes based on recent results.

Below are three teams from each conference keep an eye on if you’re trying to decide on some Super Bowl 54 predictions.

AFC Winner Odds

As the only undefeated teams in the AFC, it’s not surprising the juggernaut that is the Patriots are favorites to reach the Super Bowl. The rest of the conference seems a bit more wide open and it’s up for debate which teams can fill that void in the title game and take a shot at knocking off New England.

AFC Odds

New England Patriots (-134 To Win AFC)

We said this line would only continue to drop, and boy has it ever. The Patriots went from +300 before the season to +165 after Week 2. Now after Week 7 they’re at -134 following a move to 7-0.

New England remains No. 1 in both scoring offenses (31.9 points) and in scoring defense (6.9 points allowed). They’ve given up 10 points or less in five of seven games this season. The only real question mark in terms of competition in the AFC appeared to be Kansas City, but an injury to QB Patrick Mahomes has left the Patriots with seemingly no real contenders in the conference at this moment.

New England does appear to be a dominant force, and this line could only continue to drop as the wins pile up. The -134 odds to win the AFC don’t provide value but do feel like a safe bet going into the second half of the season.

Kansas City Chiefs (+450 To Win AFC)

Kansas City’s odds have fallen to +450 following the loss of star QB Patrick Mahomes to a knee dislocation, though the team is still in firm control of the AFC West.

If you love a good payout and/or have faith that Mahomes can return to the previous version of himself by the time the regular season ends, a +450 wager at DraftKings NJ may be worthwhile. Every team in the AFC is under the radar with the way New England has dominated and there’s one spot in the AFC title game that’s completely up for grabs.

It’s possible that no team touches the Patriots en route to their fourth straight Super Bowl appearance, but the Chiefs have absolutely no chance without Mahomes.

Houston Texans (+1600 To Win AFC)

The Texans’ +1600 line hasn’t changed since our last look at Super Bowl betting odds, and we see huge value here despite the team being in second place in its own division following a loss to Indianapolis.

The two are now sharing odds (+135) to win the AFC South and the Colts have +1300 odds to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl, but we still favor the Texans over Indy and Baltimore (+800) to this point. Both the Colts and Texans also defeated the Chiefs with Mahomes but Houston was able to do it on the road, which they could have to again if they want to reach the AFC title and/or the super bowl.

The Texans have one of the best QB/WR combinations in the league in Deshaun Watson and De’Andre Hopkins but struggle protecting Watson at times need to improve on an inconsistent defense.

Without knowing whether they’d have to go through the Patriots or not, it’s tough to tell exactly where Houston can wind up, but there’s one spot up for grabs in the AFC championship and +1600 odds for a team this talented remain attractive to us.

NFC Winner Odds

Things have been pretty wide open in the NFC since the beginning of the season and it remains that way from an odds perspective. There’s no clear favorite like the Patriots in the AFC and it’s fair to say six teams could make the case for being the best in the conference.

NFC OddsBet On The NFC Winner At DraftKings Indiana!

Green Bay Packers (+450 To Win NFC)

A few weeks back the Packers’ odds were +650, and are they’re down to +450 as they currently share the second-lowest odds with the 49ers.

Green Bay is leading the NFC North at 6-1 behind MVP-like play from Aaron Rodgers. Even with top receiver Davante Adams battling injuries for most of the season, Rodgers has seemingly settled into Matt LaFleur’s offense and things become easier with a top-ten scoring defense allowing under 20 points per game.

We will learn a lot more by the time Green Bay plays the 49ers in late November but until then, +450 odds for a team playing this well are too valuable to ignore.

New Orleans Saints (+260 To Win NFC)

Since the second week of the season, the Saints have been dealing with the loss of Hall of Fame QB Drew Brees due to a hand injury. The team hasn’t missed a beat, however, with backup Teddy Bridgewater orchestrating five straight wins. New Orleans is 6-1 and in full control of the NFC South with Brees due back any week now.

New Orleans was a road underdog in both Weeks 6 and 7, winning both outright despite not even having RB Alvin Kamara in the most recent game. The Saints have remained an NFC title contender when it looked like a spot would open up for some other teams in the conference.

With Brees set to return and the schedule lightening up a little, New Orleans should rack up even more wins. The +260 odds aren’t the best, but this team could earn a bye in the NFC and play some home games in the Superdome while in the driver’s seat for the conference title.

San Francisco 49ers (+450 To Win NFC)

We can’t continue to ignore one of the two undefeated teams remaining in the NFL and the only one in the NFC. Despite undefeated record have the second-best odds to win the conference at +450 on the DraftKings app.

Kyle Shanahan has designed a well-balanced offense for Jimmy Garoppolo to succeed in, but it’s defense driving the success in the bay. According to data from Football Outsiders, the Niners rank first in pass defense and second in overall defense, behind only the Patriots.

This team deserves to be taken seriously, but so should the schedule so far. Other than one impressive road win over the Rams, there hasn’t been much real competition. Pundits and fans are noting the Cowboys have mostly only beaten lesser teams, will we say the same about San Francisco later in the year?

Super Bowl 2020 Predictions: Packers Odds Hold Value At DraftKings

It’s still a bit early to be totally sure about NFL futures betting picks since we may not know the whole story of every team, but there’s still value to be found with 10 weeks left in the regular season.

Part of being a winning bettor is putting what we’ve seen to this point into context and finding some value, which we can find in futures markets like ‘Conference Winner’ at DraftKings. Below are our current picks for which teams will reach Super Bowl 54 in Miami:

  • Green Bay Packers To Win NFC (+450)
  • Kansas City Chiefs To Win AFC (+450)

If Green Bay can manage one of the top two spots and host games at Lambeau Field in the playoffs, they become the kind of team that could get back to the Super Bowl. Even if they’re forced to travel, the Packers are on the short list of teams that could go into New Orleans and win a playoff game

The Chiefs’ line comes with two things: value and a whole bunch of question marks. Kansas City needs its star quarterback to return and has holes to fill on defense, where it’s been exposed in recent weeks. Still, the AFC is wide open behind the Patriots and the best version of the Chiefs may be the only team with a shot to knock them off.

As betting on New England, there’s little value for the conference but there are +250 odds to win the Super Bowl and that’s the market you should hit for the favorites.
