According to Super Bowl LV odds at various sites, the reigning champion and currently undefeated Kansas City Chiefs are the unanimous favorites to repeat for the Lombardi Trophy.
Make Super Bowl LV Picks At BetMGM!
Here, we’ll use BetMGM NFL lines to go through the odds for some of the betting favorites and make some suggestions for Super Bowl 55 predictions after the first quarter of the season.
The defending champs are off to a 4-0 start and are the clear-cut Super Bowl favorites at this stage. At the start of the season, the Chiefs were around +600, the highest you can currently find them is around +380 at FanDuel Sportsbook. Even though some value is lost, there are still plenty of reasons to hop all over this line right now.
We all know that Kansas City has a potent offense behind Patrick Mahomes, the 500-million-dollar man. But one of the early takeaways from the 2020 season, however, is that very tough defense we saw during the championship run a season ago.
While wins over the Texans and Chargers were nothing special, dismantling Baltimore and New England over their next two games was telling. And while Kansas City does have several tough games remaining, this team is already running away with the AFC West and will likely only have its odds reduced as the season goes.
Baltimore entered the season right near the top of the odds board with Kansas City to win it all. And while the Chiefs defeated the Ravens head-to-head and have been more impressive overall, Baltimore is still one of the league’s elite teams with odds worth looking at.
After starting the season around +650, the Ravens currently sit at +700 and have actually gained some value despite the 3-1 record. All three of the wins were rather convincing, but the lone loss to the Chiefs was a dud, and odds tend to be reactionary.
There’s more than just Kansas City to worry about with Pittsburgh reading the AFC North and undefeated teams such as buffalo and Tennessee lurking as well, but putting the Ravens completely out of mind would be a mistake.
This group may not be dominating like it was last season but that adds value to the odds that Baltimore didn’t have last year. Whether or not the Ravens win the big game in the postseason remains to be seen, but these are fine odds on a team that will surely stick around for a while.
Oddsmakers seemed to expect some regression from Green Bayt this season, but it hasn’t come. And after beginning with odds around +2500 to win the Lombardi Trophy, the best you’re going to find one-quarter through the season is +1100 at FanDuel.
The explosive offense has scored 30+ in every game, as Aaron Jones anchors a table-setting run game and Aaron Rodgers is playing like an MVP candidate despite not having all his weapons. When looking at the other elite teams across the league, the Packers stack up with just about all of them.
Green Bay is already running away with a division that another team was favored to win, so you can be sure this group will be in the postseason and playing a winter game at Lambeau, even if fans aren’t in the building.
Make Green Baty one of your 2021 Super Bowl picks and snag these odds where they stand before it is too late.
After opening around +3000 to win the Super Bowl, the Bills peeled off four straight wins to open the campaign and bookmakers have responded by lowering the odds to +1600 at BetMGM.
So how good are the Bills? Sure, they had it easy with the Jets and Dolphins but still managed to take care of business against the Rams and Raiders. Upcoming games against Tennessee, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Seattle, and a pair against New England will go a long way to showing us what this team is really made of.
So far, Buffalo has proven that they can rack up points on suspect defenses behind QB Josh Allen, although they’ve also shown us that their defense is vulnerable. This is a playoff group so you should keep an eye on the Bills, but wait out the next few weeks and see if a potential loss gives you enhanced odds before October runs out.
Don’t look now, but the Steelers are 3-0 entering the second quarter of the season and leading the AFC North.
While a lot of the attention is on the Ravens and even to an up-and-coming Browns squad, Big Ben is healthy and Pittsburgh has gotten the job done. The first few wins haven’t been pretty, but they still count. They’ve stayed true to their identity by playing excellent defense (No. 3 in DVOA defense at Football Outsiders) and scoring when they need to, so things are looking up for the Steelers.
How Pittsburgh performs against Tennessee, Baltimore (twice), Cleveland (twice), Dallas, and Buffalo will go a long way toward determining what this team can be. But since the Steelers are ahead of the Ravens yet have odds that are more than twice as favorable, look at Miek Tomlin s team if making Super Bowl picks after four weeks.
Here we are, the underdog selection from the first quarter of the season. If you’re looking for high-paying odds on an impressive group, look no further than the Browns.
Despite finishing the first quarter of the 2020 season at 3-1, bookmakers appear to be a little skeptical of Cleveland, whose odds can be found at +4000 at BetMGM. That means there is still some value here, even if the two of the three wins were against Cincinnati and Washington.
Is there some concern that Cleveland got stomped by the Browns? Sure, but they also handled business against the teams they should, and that’s the mark of a good team. The offensive line is solid and since Baker Mayfield has weapons all over the field, it’s likely the Browns can score on any defense it plays
There’s some improvement to be made on defense but for the first time, the Browns are playing like a team that is contenders rather than pretenders. At least in the early going.
