According to BetMGM NFL lines, Tennessee is a slight home favorite at -1.5 (-110) with the moneyline at -125. On the other side, the Colts are +1.5 (-110) with a moneyline at +105.
These teams are going to meet twice in a three-week span, and that could very well set the course for what we see in the AFC South for the rest of the season. Road teams are thought to have a disadvantage on Thursday nights due to the travel and lack of practice time, but we are going with the slight underdog to win its sixth game in eight tries.
Recency bias will be on the side of the home team, as Tennessee cranked the Bears in Week 9 while the Colts laid an egg at home against Baltimore. This actually works in favor of the road team here, since value is being added to the Colts’ line.
The Titans rank in the top 10 in DVOA offense when it comes to both passing and rushing, which is a sign that the unit is far more efficient than most. With that said, the Colts rank fifth in the NFL in scoring defense and have one of the best turnover differentials in football.
Following a clunker in Week 1, Indianapolis has won five of seven, and the Colts’ offense with Philip Rivers under center has been pretty decent, scoring at least 23 points in five games. This week, it faces a Tennessee defense that has given up 30+ points on four occasions already, with two of those coming to the Jaguars and Bengals. This Colts offense, despite the most recent result, is more dynamic than what the Titans have seen on many occasions this season.
Finally, we look at the early line movement. Tennessee opened as a two-point favorite and it was immediately bet down to a single point before this past weekend’s games. Following the results, the Titans’ line understandably widened to around -2.5 at many sites before immediately closing back down to -1.5.
Since the earliest wagers tend to come in from professionals and not the general public, we can see things already moving toward the Colts when it comes to Week 10 NFL picks.
