As we gear up for another slate of NFL games, we are making Cardinals vs. Seahawks picks for Thursday Night Football in Week 11!
This NFC West contest is the only game on the schedule and a battle for first place in the division, which means online sportsbooks in NJ, PA, and elsewhere are sure to see tons of action when Seattle and Arizona meet. If you’re one of the many trying to find an angle for this matchup, keep the following in mind:
Without any further delay, let’s get to our Week 11 TNF preview and prediction for when the Cardinals visit the Seahawks in the Pacific Northwest on Thursday night.
The Arizona Cardinals (6-3) are traveling to visit the rival Seattle Seahawks (6-3) at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington as the two open up the Week 11 schedule with an NFC West battle on Thursday, November 19th at 8:20 PM EST. These two clubs, along with the Los Angeles Rams, are tied at the top of the NFC West standings, with the winner of this game taking sole possession of first for the time being.
Seattle opened as a considerable home favorite at -5.5 (-110) with the moneyline at -225. On the other side, the Cardinals were +5.5 (-110) with a moneyline at +188. But following the most recent slate of games, the spread drastically shifted to Seattle -3.5 (-110)/Arizona +3.5 (-110) at most sportsbooks.
At the time of first writing this article prior to Week 10, we were all over Arizona +5.5 (-110). Currently, that seems like the right play now that the line has narrowed quite a bit. But since those odds aren’t available for the rest of the public, let’s use the current line of Arizona +3.5 (-110) to determine where to go with this one if you’re betting at legal online betting sites in PA, NJ, and elsewhere.
There were some fireworks when the Cardinals and Seahawks met in Week 7, and we should expect more of the same on Thursday night in Week 7, especially with first place on the line. After all, These two teams combined for over 1,000 yards of total offense, so we should expect to see some points scored once again.
Russell Wilson hasn’t played his best football in Seattle’s losses each of the past two weeks, but he is an MVP candidate and the main difference maker in just about every game Seattle plays. Seattle ranks 4th in offensive efficiency according to DVOA metrics from Football Outsiders and with Wilson under center and the likes of DK Metcalf on the outside, they’re liable to score 30 or more in any game, especially if running back Chris Carson returns.
We want to say that as the offense goes, the Seahawks go. The problem is, we can’t ignore that defense because it’s a serious problem. This is one of the worst units in the league, especially against the pass, and it has given up 23+ points in every single game and 30+ on four occasions.
Arizona ranks 9th on offense according to the DVOA numbers and we’ve already seen Kyler Murray & Co. light Seattle up in prime time. Nothing that has happened in recent weeks tells us things will be any different, as the return of safety Jamal Adams hasn’t proven to make much of a difference for the Seahawks.
The Cardinals, despite allowing 34 points to Seattle the last time out, are actually much stronger defensively than a few of the teams the Seahawks have put up points against. They rank ninth in scoring defense and should be able to make enough stops to stay in the game considering how the Seattle offense played in Week 10 against Los Angeles.
It’s hard to see Wilson being denied two wins from the Seahawks’ division rival, especially considering the travel and lack of practice time that goes into playing a road game on Thursday, but we also can’t deny Seattle’s recent skid being a cause for concern. Whether the Seahawks win or not, there’s no reason why Arizona can’t keep it close based on what we’ve seen from both teams, especially in recent weeks.
We would definitely feel much better getting six or more points on the road but since Seattle still has no fans in attendance, the home field advantage mayn ot be all it normally is at CenturyLink Field. Take the Cardinals to keep things close for a second time, and shop around for the best line possible.
