Monday Night Football showcases the state-of-the-art Allegiant Stadium as the Las Vegas Raiders christen their new digs when they host the New Orleans Saints on Monday, September 21 at 8:20 PM. The Saints are currently 5.5-point favorites and the total is currently set at 50.5 points at BetMGM.

Both the Saints and the Raiders found themselves on the winning side after Week 1, as New Orleans defeated the Bucs by a 34-23 score while the Raiders dispatched the Panthers, 34-30.
Yeah, we’re not counting on defense much here. The Saints pass defense is pretty good overall and held Tom Brady to pedestrian stats in his Bucs’ debut and should be able to do the same to Derek Carr. Their run defense did pretty well also, but Josh Jacobs presents way more issues for New Orleans than anything Tampa could muster.
The Raiders’ defense allowed 260 yards passing to Teddy Bridgewater last week and with Drew Brees under center, that number should increase. Even without Thomas, Brees still has several weapons including Alvin Kamara and Emmanuel Sanders.
With only 17 yards from Thomas, the supporting cast had to be trusted in Week 1 and it will remain that way this week. Judging by the Saints’ production against a decent Tampa Bay defense, I think we can count on New Orleans putting some points on the board once again.
The Saints have opened up as a -5.5 (-110) at BetMGM and I think that’s a great grab right now. A touchdown win is doable even without Thomas in the game and I don’t think the Raiders have enough manpower on defense to stop the high-powered offense.
DraftKings Sportsbook has the over/under total set at 50.5 points after both teams finished over in Week 1. This is setting up to be a high-scoring affair, especially on the Saints’ side in my opinion. Here are a few reasons why I feel this way:
Many experts are envisioning team totals in the 30s for the Saints and high 20s for the Raiders, and my 37-28 pick is no different. I’m picking the over for my Saints-Raiders total prediction.
