PA Online Casinos Expected To Go Live On July 15

For those hopeful that the launch of PA online casinos was right around the corner since the law passed in 2017, the wait will finally be over on July 15 of this year.

During a public meeting involving the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on April 17, executive director Kevin O'Toole announced that 90 days was adequate enough for the 10 iGaming certificate holders for online casinos PA, as well as the three iGaming operators in the state, to prepare to go live on July 15, 2019. Pennsylvania sports betting is expected to go live in short order as well, likely before the Summer of 2019.

Ten Pennsylvania Online Casinos Ready To Go When PA Online Gambling Launches On July 15

PA online casinos will join three other states, including New Jersey, Delaware, and Nevada, to offer online gambling, online poker, and online sports betting. The 10 approved PA online casinos are:

Record NJ Online Casino Revenue Could Be Blueprint For Online Casino Pennsylvania Success

As players and land-based casinos in Pennsylvania waited for PA online casinos to finally launch, they had to watch as NJ online casinos in the Garden State set multiple records, including a huge combined revenue number of $63.65 million in revenue from NJ online casinos, online sports betting in New Jersey, and New Jersey online poker.

Of that, $37.23 million alone was NJ online casino revenue from online casino industry leader Golden Nugget, which features SugarHouse Online Casino as an affiliate. Caesars, a parent company of Harrah's, has also shown steady revenue with a combined $5.13 million in NJ online casino and poker revenue alone for March. With the success of online casinos in New Jersey, it's easy to see why there's optimism for big names like SugarHouse, Harrah's Philadelphia, Hollywood, and others once Pennsylvania online casinos are up and running.

Existing partnerships for PA online casino games can show just how easy some PA online casinos will have it when it comes to launching a polished product on July 15. Here is a breakdown of some of those key partnerships:

  • Harrah's Philadelphia: Harrah's Philadelphia's parent company is Caesars Entertainment, who already run Caesars Online Casino in New Jersey, so it's expected that they'll have substantial resources to kick off their PA online casino branch. Caesars has partnerships with 888 and NYX, with 888 possibly powering their PA online poker product.


  • SugarHouse Online Casino: SugarHouse has an NJ online casino presence already, and as we stated before, a successful one. They have their own proprietary online casino platform done in-house by Rush Street Interactive. This platform also houses their NJ online sports betting app, SugarHouse Sportsbook. Rivers Online Casino is also powered by Rush Street Interactive, making this a dynamic duo for the online casino Pennsylvania market. It's expected that SugarHouse Sportsbook will also use the Rush Street platform when PA online sports betting is eventually launched.


  • Parx Online Casino: Parx Casino is the revenue leader when it comes to land-based casino gaming, so it's expected that they'll have a similar ascent to the top when it comes to Pennsylvania online casinos. They launched a social casino in 2015 powered by GameAccount Network. That agreement between Parx and GAN was expanded in 2018 and includes real money online casinos. Parx also uses Kambi for technological and sports betting insight.


  • Sands Bethlehem Online Casino: While Sands Bethlehem Online Casino has applied for and received an online casino PA license, and have made plans to have both an online casino and offer online poker in Pennsylvania, they have not yet announced a partnership to create the platform and PA online casino app.
