How Did Pennsylvania Online Gambling Revenue Hit $3.43 Million?

PA online casinos ended online gaming's second month in the state on a strong note as total online gross revenues hits $3.43, according to Bonusseeker's research.

Led by SugarHouse Online Casino PA, August total revenues jumped from $812,306 in the market’s opening month of July to $3.43 million in August. That according to figures released on September 17, 2019, by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

SugarHouse PA dominated the competition with almost $1.65 million in online casino revenue for August, which makes up for roughly half of the total online gambling revenue in the state. Parx Casino Online was right on the heels of SugarHouse at $1.1 million, which was led by strong online table game revenue.

With a $2.6 million month-over-month increase in online casino revenue, Pennsylvania online casinos close August on a strong note as they look to continue their growth into the football season.

  • $.902 in gross online table gaming win

In December 2013, New Jersey saw its second month for online gambling results in $7,388,672 in revenue. When compared to the 3.43 million in revenue for PA online gambling's second month of action, the initial reaction may be one of disappointment.

But it is important to note, however, that there were 12 New Jersey online operators at the time. As of right now, there are only three online casinos in Pennsylvania.

As for PA online sports betting, FanDuel Sportsbook just launched in the state is already flexing its muscles as they have made a gross revenue of $2,042,424 for August. The closest competition currently is Parx Sportsbook ($500,982 gross revenue) and SugarHouse Sportsbook PA ($415,290 gross revenue).

In total, online sports betting saw $2,540,199 in gross revenue for August, which really highlights the dominance of FanDuel Sportsbook PA (it should be noted that BetRivers actually lost money after factoring in promotional credits).

“This is a positive sign for online casinos in Pennsylvania. With the NFL PA betting kicking off and more operators getting their footing, we expect significantly higher numbers in September and then October. The arrow appears to be pointing up.” said Rich Migliorisi, Managing Editor at
