The League of Legends World Championship is set to happen on Nov. 10, 2019 at AccorHotels Arena in Paris, France at 1:00 p.m. CET between the G2 eSports and the FunPlus Phoenix.
The Esports betting world will be intense as this marquee LoL matchup should be highly contested. Not only that, but this marks the 10-year anniversary of this Esports event. So let's find out who will come out on top in the heavyweight bout.
League of Legends 2019 Championship Preview
The Championship final is a best of five matches. The first team to win three matches will take home the Summoner's Cup. To get to this point, G2 Esports had to claw its way back against SK Telecom T1, who started strongly in each match, but came up short. Many believe this was due to the creative strategy deployed by G2, which has now led some to believe this may be one of the best League of Legends teams in the world.
At the start of the tournament, FunPlus Phoenix stumbled out of the gate, but really took care of business the rest of the way as they came out Group B. After that stumble, it appears FPX had more dominant victories in comparison to G2, which leads to an interesting prediction decision.

FunPlus Phoenix vs. G2
If G2 manages to defeat FunPlus Phoenix, they will become the first Western team to win worlds since 2011. And not only will they get that honor with a win, but it would also compelte a tremendous feat, as G2 Esports would be the first team in League of Legends history to complete the calendar Grand Slam. On top of that, G2 Esports recently took down the the Mid-Season Invitational when they defeated SK Telecom T1 in the semifinals, the team they just beat to enter the Championship Finals this coming Sunday. So although T1 is a three-time champion, perhaps G2 just has their number. FunPlus Phoenix faced the 2011 champs, the Fnatic, and the last year's winners, Invictus Gaming to make the Finals. In each match, it FunPlus Pheonix looked to be in control, however, some feel Invictus Gaming made too many unforced errors, which really worked in FPX's favor. But a 3-1 finish against the defending champs is impressive and simply can't be ignored. Coming into this Finals, the teams appear to be evenly matched. The key takeaway for Esports betting purposes is this, a Finals hasn't ended 3-1 since 2015. With these teams so evenly matched, it would be difficult to see it playing out any other way than a decisive Game 5.

League of Legends 2019 Prediction
As noted, you must go back to 2015 since the last time a Finals didn't reach a Game 5 match.
G2 has continued to thrive under pressure, finding ways to win. More importantly, they proved they can dig themselves out of some tough spots during competition and may currenly be the best LoL team on the planet. It doesn't hurt to have knocked off three-time champions, T1, in the process.
So despite FPX defeating the 2018 world champs, Invictus Gaming, we can't help but see G2 coming out on top and winning the League of Legends Championship, 3-2, over FPX.
