The West Virginia Lottery Interactive Wagering Act became law on March 27 after several steps, which included the House passing the bill in February and then the Senate overwhelmingly approving it after some amendments. Due to West Virginia law, Gov. Jim Justice had 15 days sign or veto the bill after it passed the state legislature on March 9. Gov. Justice did neither, allowing WV online casinos to become legal.

West Virginia Joins New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Delaware To Legalizing Online Casinos In The US

Each license will cost the West Virginia land-based casinos $250,000 for a five-year license, while reupping a five-year license will cost $100,000. Revenue from WV online casinos will be taxed at 15 percent.
